Hello,
Sizzledog said I HAD to join and thusly, I have. I'm the lady she's posted about with the zoo.
So the zoo consists of:
Shye: He's a male Border Collie with a ring around his nose and currently about 5 months old. He is a tri; although his browns aren't solid, they make up for it in prevalence, inhabiting his face, legs, and even underside of his tail. Shye is a bright boy and is the more wary and less people oriented of my dogs. He seems to be semi-aggressive, although I'm fairly certain this is a fear related issue and I'm banking on improvement with age and exposure to all the new, scary things in the world.
River: Also a male Border Collie, sporting a lovely blaze on his ever-so-adorable face. This is Shye's brother and litter-mate. River also shares Shye's prevalent browns. River is a people pleaser and would just about fall over dead if it'd make you happy. Sweet dog.
Xander: This is my tuxedo rescue. They told me he was part Maine Coon and he certainly has the MC voice but he has more the coat of a Ragdoll. So, I'm calling him a mix of the two. Xander is super sweet and regal. He's unique though... with one blue eye and one gold eye, white whiskers on one side and black whiskers on the other.
Marzipan (Marzi): Maine coon mix... brown tabby. He's terribly funny and amazingly loving. He's not the brightest cat but still smart enough to know how to open cabinets and to figure out where the water that shot him came from. My morning snuggler and daily comedic relief.
Madeline (Maddie): Maine coon mix and solid fluffy black. She's Marzi's sister and you seriously would be hard-pressed to find a sweeter girl.
Orion: This is my nine month old seal bi-color male Ragdoll. GORGEOUS even with the mismark (his ears are white on the ends and his coat is white except for a few colored patches). If ever there was a question that cats are from wild stock, Orion sets the record straight. His favorite pass times include Kitty Indy 500 around my house with sporadic ricochets off the walls, sleeping in the sink, and carrying stuffed animals around the house by the throat while growling like a dog.
Amaya: She's just over a year old and a gorgeous seal mitted girl if ever there was one. Amaya is also a Ragdoll. She's kinda people shy and doesn't trust loud noises or fast movements. I suspect the breeder wasn't all that nice to pretty Amaya. She's warming up and becoming quite the love.
Makana: One of my two ten week old Ragdoll kittens and Amaya's son. Makana is a seal point. He is beautiful and intelligent, sweet, loving, and precocious. He's a doll.
Maui: This is Amaya's other son and Makana's brother. He looks like Mamma with his seal mitts but is the bigger, stronger, and more trouble prone of the two kittens. His face reminds me of a sad clown. Sweet boy.
Paisley Q.: BUNNEH-HEAD! This is the harlequin rabbit that I got from a friend of a friend who couldn't take him with her when she moved. He's a good bunny. Although, he does have a love-affair with Marzi... be it one sided (he wants to make baby cabbits). Both are neutered males.... go figure. Paisley also loves apples and clover. The front yard is his favorite dine out establishment.
I also have two bettas, goldfish, oscars, a pacu, blind cave tetras, cory cats, a skunk botia, platties, mollies, a swordtail, two angelfish, and a pearl gourami.
As for me, I'm a single mother to my entire zoo plus my seven year old son. I attend college in Iowa studying Psychology. When I'm not playing mom to any of my fur kids or fin kids or son, I can be found reading or working on homework, writing, singing, and surfing the internet.
So... hello and hopefully, here's to new friends!
