I like starting to think about my resolutions for next year on Christmas. There is something wonderful in the Christian concept of giving all you have and then if you come up short, which we all do, asking forgiveness and trying again. This is reassuring because every year when I review what I have done, I find there is always more that could have been done or better ways to do things.
Some of my resolutions are personal, like trying to exercise more and perhaps lose some weight. Some have to do with my children, even as they grow and are on their own for the most part, there are opportunities to make a positive difference in their lives.
Finally, here and everywhere, I am trying to cultivate the art of listening and going beyond words to try to hear and understand what people are trying to communicate.
How about y'all, do you have any New Year's Resolutions?

Personal: Start actively writing my book that I keep talking about. Actually, I just want to get back into my writing in general. I think my writer's block is starting to crack, and I want it to crumble.

Professional: Continue to expand my knowledge and skill sets in dog training and make assistant manager. It would be neat if sometime in '06 I was chosen to go help start up one of our new resorts.

Personal: Make time to work out every day as opposed to "when I have time"

Professional: Actually try to keep up with h/w and improving grades in general

I never make em, because I never adhere to them.

I learned long time ago to set two types of goals.

For the current moment and for the lifetime.

Anything in between I dont seem to be capable of doing.

Professional: Make a big difference in the grooming program where I work now.

to keep a sketch journal that has nothing to do with a work project..to rediscover the "fun" of drawing. Also to be better about taking my vitimins..i am awful about forgetting until i start to get charlie horses that remind me really fast.

Personal: To lose about 15-20 pounds (Ive gained quite abit of weight since last winter!) and to quit being such a smartass to certain folks.

Professional: To get accepted into UAMS AAS Paramedic program, and get my life going again in general and to somehow send my dog to a pro trainer. Preferrable Chris Akin but probably more than I can afford.
