Our other vacuum decided to die on us after three years of being such a good employee. ;) We were so sad to see her go.

So, we haven't had a vacuum for about a month and our floors were getting pretty dirty, from pet hair, dirt, etc. We were about to buy one when the "Brady eating plastic" incident came up and then he had to have that surgery. So we couldn't do it, but then Home Depot saved the day with their special of "anything over $299 you can get interest free for 12 months" so we got a Dyson! I LOVE it! My carpets look brand new again. We didn't get the pet one, bc the only difference was it came with this special pet tool (which we already had from our previous vacuum and it fits this one) and a bunch of powder to put on the floor, and it was $100 more. So we got the regular one, but it is so great!

I am really excited about it, can you tell? I have wanted this vacuum since I have cared about even wanting a vacuum, so needless to say it is a very exciting day in my household.

Lol! I keep looking around at vaccums, I can't afford a Dyson by any stretch of the imgination, so I'll probably end up with a Dirt Devil of some sort, bagless of course.

Kudos !!! I've had hand-me-downs for 10 years . One I have works great but Ollie's hairs do plug up the hose and every other vacuuming I have to preform a hosaoscopy on it .

Congrats on the new vac!! I have been "looking" myself! I was eyeing a Dyson and have heard good things about it!!

I am sick and tired of our bagless!! By the time you buy filters, 2 different kind, (and after about 1 month it starts to get a funny odor if you don't change it) and clean it constantly, PITA, I would rather just have a bag of dirt to throw out!!! Hubby is pushing for a canister type...........but since he will rarely use it the final choice is going to be mine.

Rock on! Dysons are the best. We have one and it's been the best buy. Three dog and a cat? Can't tell they live here after we've vacuumed. We have the Animal DC17... LOVE IT! :D

Sounds like the one I should get next.

I can't wait for Debi to read this thread; we all know she can get excited about a new appliance.

I used it two days in a row, and it is pulling up animal fur like a CHAMP! We are vacuuming everything we can! It makes the carpets look so great, I just want to make them look like that all the time. I know the newness will wear off, but I will say I am really happy with it.

I have the Phantom cyclone and when it dies if it ever does I am moving to Dyson unless something better comes along. I have always run a upper end vac.
I had some of the cheapies that just to me are a waste of money. Phantoms were the best out there at one time but now are getting less so and I am losing confidence in them so will be getting a dyson too unless as I say something better comes out. Just no need now.
