Hello,

My name's Amanda...I am new to the forum. Tonight I picked up my 13-week-old Pomeranian mix. I've named her Delilah and she is currenty in her crate, not quite brave enough to come out yet. I have spread out newspaper, filled a bowl with water and one with Puppy Chow and now I'm just waiting.

I look forward to posting more on this forum, I'm sure I will have lots of questions! And I'll post pictures once I get some of her out of her crate :)

Hi and welcome to Chazhound! I'm sure we can help guide you through a lot from food (definitively check that section of the forum out) to training and everything in between. Just give her some time and I'm sure she'll gain some confidence and come on out. Did you get her from a breeder or shelter? I'm sure you'll learn a lot here and I hope you enjoy the forum :D

dont worry she will come out soon enough!

the first few days can be nerve wracking but soon enough you will have your hands full with a ball of energy.

Welcome to the boards... read some old threads... you will learn a ton and feel free to ask any and all question that come to mind.

Thanks everyone.
I did get her out of her crate last night after two hours of waiting so I could give her a bath (she had gotten car sick twice---yuck!) I got her from a breeder. It wasn't my first choice..but I have been looking for a puppy for months now from a shelter and everytime I called about one, it would be too late. I live in a rural area and there were tons of beagles and hounds but not what I was looking for. Then I started looking at rescues...the last puppy I interviewed for had 45 applicants! I found out on Tuesday I didn't get that one...so I started looking in the newspaper.

She never ate or drink at all until tonight. I took her to work with me and tried to get her to drink water all day. I guess she is starting to feel more at ease because she has been running around the apartment following me and whimpering....she got held a lot today so she's spoiled already! :)I even got her to eat a little bit by sitting beside of her, so I'm feeling less anxious.

I've been reading a little of the threads..I hope to have more time this weekend. :) And I'll post pictures sometime tomorrow. For some reason my computer won't recognize my camera even though I've used this camera many times before.

Hi everyone,

I have been really busy but I wanted to post a picture. This is the day after I got her two weeks ago. Delilah went to the vet on Tuesday and weighs four pounds. She has one more round of shots and she will be done with all of her puppy shots.

She is eating better. I'm still working on the housebreaking..but she does really well at the office, it's just when she is at home. She is going on her first long distance car ride tomorrow. I have to go to Virginia, it's six hours both ways. Hopefully it will be a smooth trip.

well you sure got a cute pup...

do you know what she is mixed with?

she's mixed with poodle.

Our trip went well. She did really well in the car. She was more nervous at my mom's house. She didn't eat for the first two days we were there.

We're back in West Virginia now and she spent all last night running around the apartment until I finally put her in her crate so I could go to bed!

she's mixed with poodle. The woman I got her from told me the dad was full pom and the mom was half pom and half poodle.
