I've been sick as a dog recently, and finally got to take Shippo out to the park today for the first time in a while. While I was there, I happened to get a decent stack pic of him. I can't believe he's almost 2 now!

Shippo is 21 months old now (1 year, 11 months).

Man, I know that fluffy is a fault and all so I totally don't advocate breeding for it... but I just looove the way fluffy corgis look. They are so beautiful, and Shippo is indeed very handsome. =3

He is just beautiful!

I don't know anything about corgis other than recognizing one when I see it, LOL, so can you tell me WHY the fluffy look is undesired or considered a 'fault'??

Ah. This all originates with function. A Fluffy corgi's fur is fine, mats easily, and picks up dirt and debris easily when outside. It also very easily collects ice balls and does not repel water, like a regular corgi's coat. This would make it very difficult for a Fluffy to effectively herd. So that's why they put it on the standard as a serious fault, and responsible breeders are trying to breed it out.

Although, I am glad there are accidental Fluffies, because I just love them. >^_^<

I just LOVE Shippo... always have! His name is neat too.

I really want a Fluffy someday. I know they're more work, but I was a pro groomer for years - I can handle it! It'll be fun to have a dog I can brush and comb, and trim little feet on. Ada gets her feet trimmed, but I'm sure a Fluffy is MUCH more fun to groom!

Besides, the SO bathes Ada abotu once a week anyway - our future Fluffy will be groomed to the nines by matter of default!

Totally agreed, I want one someday too! After shelties, a fluffy corgi will probably be pretty similar. =3 I think they're so stunning!
