Hi, we are new here-just wanted to introduce ourselves. We just got our puppy on Thursday, my husband witnessed him being thrown out of a car window. Lucky for us Angus is fine, he is a 2 week old red merle Aussie. We were not exactly looking for a puppy right now but it is a breed we have always wanted and it just so happens that is what literally came flying at us. I am a vet tech so I am currently bottle raising him and he seems perfectly healthy and happy, maybe a little fat and roly but oh well. So there you have it, there is a little bit of info about us.

OMG that is just horrible and that is how we aqiured our Whiskey do to someone else neglect and him running the streets. He was as deaths door when we got him and our vet brought him through . He has grown into a handsome young man if I say so myself ( BRAG HERE ) I have two red ACDs and love all ACDs. please post a picture of your little one soon and welcome to Chaz.

Thanks-that is soo sad about Whiskey (cool name by the way), I am glad he landed himself in your home, sounds like a good one. I will try and post some pictures tongiht, but since he has only been home a few days we unfortunatly have not had much time to take too many pics, although I am not sure why since he is soo darn cute!!!! It will be great being able to talk to other Aussie owners.

Hi and Welcome :)

I am so glad that Angus pulled through his ordeal and that he ended up in a loving home and with someone trained to know how to care for him at such a young age :)

2 weeks! No way, that is so sad. If he hadn't at least found a good home with you I would cry but maybe it was better for him to be dumped off like that then be actually raised by the people who did it. I want pics! Oh and welcome.

oh geez that is a real beauty. You could just go ahead and throw him my way lol. Some heelers are born without tails but according to AKC they should have tail. Whiskey had to have his amputated because of how badly broken up it was when we found him or I would not have done it. I like them either way but glad you are chosing to leave his tail. It is a very painful proceedure and one that many vets here are choosing to no longer do.
But anyway back to your pup. Gorgeous beautiful markings. Gee whiz Aussie isn't found of Heelers is she ??

Thanks to everyone, I took him with me to work today and weighed him, what a beefcake he is he's up 6 ounces since Thursday when we got him. He is doing great and is up eating every 1-2 hours. I have even been able to get him to lap up a mixture of beef baby food and goat's milk. I am really looking forward to the next few weeks as he starts to play and grow. I am wondering though how everyone feels about crate training, I think it is a good idea and my husband not so much-what does everyone else think???
