I am going to pick up a new Saint puppy today (yay!!) I have one 16 month old male Saint right now. What I'm wondering is how do I make this easier on him? We have been inseparable for the whole time I've had him (I havent worked or anything so its literally been me and him all day every day)

I know hes going to be excited, cause he loves other dogs and doesnt get to play with them often (other dogs are usually scared of his size) but I think once the reality of hes not going to get my 100% attention all the time now sets in he will start getting mad. How do I make the new puppies entry into our house go as smoothly as possible?

I would make sure to separate them at night and when you're away also... and get each their own toys. For my two it went really well, I never had to do much of anything. I kept them apart at first (they could see each other through a gate), but it didn't last long.

Well our first night went well. I looked at them in the night and they were cuddled together! They each have their own food dishes, but have decided to share one between the two of them....at the same time haha!! The older dog is still a bit confused to what a puppy is doing here but hes coming around. I think hes a bit mad at me also, but he will get over it. Once they start to play together it will be fun. The older dog plays too rough and has accidently run over the little one a few times, but they are kind of feeling each other out to see what works I guess!

I just took in my friends two saint bernards, one is 4 years old and the other is 4 months old. The 4 year old gets annoyed with the little on regularly, and recently discovered the older one likes to barrel the little one over so I'm keeping a close eye on them for now. Saint bernards are realy laid back, and realy big lovable sweeties. :)

Glad your first night went so well. :) Congrats on the puppy.

and congrats on your saints as well!!

Yeah they are so laid back, my little one more than the older one but maybe that will change once hes settled in more!! I know what you mean about the big one barreling over the poor little one, thats happened a few times too, but they are starting to get a better feel of each other and how to play now.
