I will be picking up a puppy next week. Yorkie maltese mix. I work at home during the day, so I will be here to let her out and play with her around lunch time. I was wondering if I leave water in her crate throughout the day? Also if I move her crate to 2 different areas at different times of the day, will it confuse her. I do childcare, and would like to have her in a bedroom for the morning, but have kids that nap there in the afternoon, so she would be in the office or kitchen with me.

Most here would say to leave water with her however I think it depends on her time in the crate all at once. We have never put water in the crate. Wrigley has access to water at all times when he is out of the crate. Generally is only in there at night and probably for around a 5 hour stretch during the day (has been this way since puppyhood). I wouldn't move her crate however I'm not sure it would confuse her. Wrigley likes having his crate in one place. His crate is right by the door in our living room which is complete opposite side of the house from the bedroom (don't want to hear him moving about at night)--and he does fine. It just depends on the dog.
