hello my name is Laura. i am 17 years old and my mom got her but could not keep her. Her name is Gracy. She is a black lab mixed with a besenji. She is almost 9 months old so pretty close to a year and I was wondering if there was anything i could do to make her not so hyper. if you would please give me some advice i would really appreciate it. Gracy is a real hyper little girl right now but i love her anyway and always will. But with your advice you could help me alot on how to teach her to be not so hyper. Thank you for your time to read this and to give me some advice. I hope to hear from you....

Everyone, please welcome Laura!! (yep..... she's my daughter!)
I try to give her advice, but Mom doesn't always have all the answers, so I pointed her in this direction...... I hope you all can help her out!!! :)
I hope that Gracie will blossom into a wonderful dog and bring Laura all the joy and companionship that Buddy has brought me.

A proud Mom,
S.

9mo old dogs are teenagers. They are hyper, energetic and always raring to go. You may want to increase teh length and distance of her walks, not to mention the duration and frequency of her playtime. Also, get her into some sort of obedience training which will have her utilize her mind -- which will help in the entire tiring her out bit. Because unfortunately you can't really make puppies/teenage dogs less hyper... you can only tire them out. :)

Welcome to Chaz! She's an adolescent so she's bound to be rowdy, but with that mix she needs all the exercise she can get! I am sure she is simply marvelous but keep those toys flying!
Hope you find yourself at home here!
