I'm new here.

I am owned by a 5 year old Brittany Spaniel named Ginger. She is a great dog, besides being terrified of thunderstorms. (And it's raining here today, no good for her.)

She likes chasing squirrels and learning new tricks.
She trains me as much as I train her. :)

I'm currently in school, working on a Master's degree in behavior analysis at the University of North Texas. The program focuses on human and animal behavior, my main focus is animal training. Most of the training I do is with rescue horses, but my second love is dog training.

I blog about clicker training, dog training, horse training and the science behind training at my blog Stale Cheerios: Horse Clicker Training

Hi and welcome. :) There aren't many Brittany's on the board, so you're obligated for pictures.

Also, there aren't awards given out for most posts in a single day and with the blog link, genuine as it may be, it makes many of our members think :spam: . Just fyi. :)

I'll stick around, I'm not a spammer. :)

I'm very active on a couple of equestrian forums, but have been needing a place to talk to other dog folks. Just found this board, and it seems like a good one.

Also, storming heavily in TX today, so I'm miserable and stuck inside. Usually spend Saturdays outside playing with my horses.

Welcome to Chaz!

I was lucky enough to attend the Orca conference at UNT earlier this year, and I'm hoping to go again this year. I'll be interested in hearing your progress through the master's program!

Thanks lizzybeth!!

We have just recently opened up registration for the 2011 conference, which will be Feb. 19. Art and Science of Animal Training Conference 2011
We would love to see you there again! Are you in the DFW area?

welcome--I actually love Brittany's--have never owned one, but knew a few when I was younger, as a kid. Pretty active dogs, as I recall. Would love some pictures.

VERY active!

She gets a 3 mile walk in the morning and a 1 mile walk in the evening.
Usually a bit of training either in the morning or afternoon.
Spends most of the afternoon watching/chasing squirrels in the backyard.

Here are a couple of cute puppy pictures. :)
