First of all I suck at taking pictures. We were on a list for a female but when we got to the breeder we saw him and just fell in love. The breeder has another litter ready in three weeks so we may get a female out of this next litter.

He is adorable!! I am also a little...surprised, they have another litter coming. That doesn't sound very responsible to me.

The breeder has a ranch it is a beautiful place. She has lots of dogs but she also breeds with dogs out of state. Most of her dogs have been shown but we are not into showing we just have our Goldens as pets. Many people do buy her dogs to show them though.

She has three litters coming in the next few months and usually all dogs are claimed before they are born. The next litter are all claimed but two females one of which we put a deposit on. There are a few other breeders in the southern states but in my opinion none are as reputable as her.

They see a vet from when they are born and they last saw her vet on Friday they were all clear on everything all of her dogs hips are tested and guaranteed until they are two and we must bring the puppy to our vet within 72 hours we did and everything is fine. This will be our third puppy from her since 1999 all have done great and are very healthy. I know many many people who have her Goldens.

I understand the whole overpopulation with animals and that there are so many in pounds but I have had pound puppies and mixes since I was born. I am at a time in my life that we are able to have Goldens and I have always loved Goldens. I'm not saying I would not get any dogs from a pound now but nothing has presented itself.

There is such a wonderful difference knowing the history of the parents and knowing the temperament that the dog will have being a full breed. I especially as a child went through some heartbreaking times with mixed dogs that did not work out for my parents.

Oh and the dogs are not outside she has indoor/outdoor buildings for her dogs all the moms and puppies are in air conditioned buildings.

We are not sure of a name yet.:p

Oh yes she is meticulous about having her dogs checked. A vet comes out to her ranch as well as seeing them at the office. I know a lot of people with her dogs through the years and none of them has had any serious issues with their Goldens. My vet actually bought two Goldens from her in the 80's and a few of his family members continue to buy from her. So she is well known and I really trust her.

Just because a dog is of a certain breed, does NOT mean it will have the supposed temperament of that breed ;). I have 7 dachshunds, and none are the same. They all have different temperaments and faults.

And there are TONS of golden's in rescues considering they are one of the most overbred breeds.

That is just an FYI, not meaning to say I am against getting dogs from reputable breeders.

No I know what you mean I guess I should say you have an idea of how the temperament will be more so then not having a clue about a mix. I mean Brody is pretty darn crazy for a Golden (He did not come from this breeder) but I love him anyway.:lol-sign: He has many strange quirks about him. :rofl1:

UGH!! I have been overruled on the name. His name is going to be Gunner!:yikes: Great name but I don't think it fits a Golden and I sure don't think it fits him. I was thinking more along the lines of Cooper.

    GUNNER???:rofl1:

I actually have not even looked at his family history yet. We have never given the show names and registered any of our Goldens We have all the paperwork but I guess I figured we would never mate or show them. A friend of mine has Goldens that she does not plan on showing but she has hers registered. I wonder if it is to late for Baxter? I will have to look into this.
