I always wonder what natural flavour really means. It's randomly in foods I think would be okay.. Except they then try to tell me it's this and that if I call or email. If it's something specific why isn't it on the bag as a specific?

Natura puts "natural flavors" in their foods and here is the definition taken from their site:

"Natural flavors are minimally processed flavor ingredients that do not contain synthetic or artificial components.

In the Natura products that include "natural flavor" in the formula, the exact composition is proprietary. However, the ingredient does comply with the FDA CFR which regulates this definition, and is always made from the same animal species on which the formula is based. For example, the "natural flavor" used in the original EVO formula contains a reduction of chicken meat - much the same process as is employed to create a chicken stock in your home kitchen."

I came across this food before and am really curious about giving it a try, it looks awesome! I just have no idea where to find a distributor. I called them and left my number with the secretary, the sales rep is supposed to give me a call back some time...

I just got called up by the sales rep and he told me that this new food has just been released in the states a couple months ago and is due to arrive in Canada within the next couple of weeks. They have AWESOME customer service and are brutally honest about their formulas, where their food is made and who their distributors are (CanPet and AllPet for Ontario). I am going to try to convince my pet store to get some in and if they do I will deffinately be getting a bag! In case anyone was unsure this food is made by Diamond.

If you call 1-800-977-8797 and leave your name and number with the lady as well as tell here where you are from their sales representative will call you back within a day or two with LOADS of info :D be prepared to devote about 10 minutes LOL Thegreat thing is they are super helpful without being pushy. The sales rep that called me was more than willing to talk about other brands of food too!

That's a pretty good definition. Natural flavors (and for that matter most artifical ones) are just small ammounts of ingredients that are considered safe and are used to enhance flavor. Since they are usually proprietiary and secret (because they what give particular brand of food its distinctive taste) companies put those vauge terms on the bag to protect their recipies. As a rule, they aren't trying to put anything over on you, they're trying to keep their competators away. Notably, to, most articial flavors are not significantly different from their 'natural equivalents' . . . the difference is that the compound was made in a lab instead of extracted from a natural souce. Often its the exact same chemical, but the artifical version is purer. (This is especially true of plant flavors).

We've got it at the store I pick up Kadins food. The guy that runs it compares it as a cheaper Timberwolf alternative, haven't tried it as we feed Timberwolf and he does excellent on that.
