We are getting new flooring installed in our home as I speak. I am really excited. We have lived in this home for 2 years now, and even though it was a new home when we bought it, having a dog can really do some wear and tear on your carpet. But the living room carpet was really all that needed it. It had a coffee stain, little reminents from bones chewed on stuck in the carpet, and it was just dirty looking. We are having laminate flooring installed and I think it will look really good. We didn't go for the actual hardwood, one because it is more expensive, and two it scratches easier and I have a very rambunctious dog. I am anxious to see what the animals think of it. Brady gets a little weirded out by floors that don't have carpet at first. He won't go to Petsmart b/c he is not used to the floor  . He just recently started going into Liz's garage in order to get them through the house and outside without getting mud on the carpet.

I will let you know what I think when it is done. I will try to post a pic too.

I can just hear the claws and paws slipping and sliding as the dogs chase each other around.

It looks good, maybe someday Ill do that here. Putting the carpet in wasnt my idea, but the hardwood laminate in the kitchen and bathroom where and the dogs sure do slide well on it.

Yes it is funny because I keep hearing Brady walk accross and it makes this clicking noise. Bu the cat is even funnier because she keeps running through and puffing her tail out and chasing us. For some reason this new floor makes her think she is bigger than she is. Or maybe she just likes running through the room now. Either way she was so funny last night!

I am soooo jealous. We are waiting for our tax returns to tile our kitchen floor and debating on new carpet or laminate flooring in the den. The carpet in there is HORRIBLE. The linolium has to be replaced in the kitchen b/c Rosie chewed a hole right in the middle of the kitchen-HOW we don't know but it is about a 2ftx2ft hole...If you don't mind me asking, did you get the flooring at HOme Dept or Lowes? Or maybe a flooring place? We are trying to decide where to get it....Thanks

Love the floor and also your wall color.

Melissa, I know about the linolium being eaten up. Max did the same thing. I decided to pick it up and put down the self-stick tile linoleum so if Max dug up another piece, I could just replace the square.

Actually we priced it at Home Depot and it was going to be around $1300.00 installed. My husband actually works for Sherwin Williams and we found out that they have a flooring company and we get a discount since he works for them. So we had them do it and it was $706.00 plus around $125 for the shoe molding which we still have to have done next week. So we got it for a pretty good price.

Love the sofa!

Laminate looks good and is practical...but the noise of claws tapping when you're watching TV DOES MY HEAD IN!!!

LOL! That happened last night, one pacing dog + laminate flooring = me going crazy!

Thanks everyone for your nice comments!

It is truly GORGEOUS! I love the 'homey' look. I've said this many times, I'm just not a carpet lover. With this look you can place a beautiful area rug for a little color if you want...and it's easy to replace if you tire of it. All that said.....the 'clicking' of doggie paws.....that's what makes me crazy when Hammie is in all night!!! BUT...it is so easy to clean any floor that isn't carpet, so I'm still all for it!!!! How cute is Brady?!!!!!!!! :D

LOL! He is a charmer!

It is so easy to clean! I gave Brady a bone last night so that he would leave my friend Jill alone while we all watched the game (he has a crush on just about any girl that comes over, and he is a foot man, he gets obsessed with their feet, it is so funny) and I was able to sweep the reminents right up. Or I guess actually hubby swept them up to be exact....but it looked like it would be really easy, LOL!!!!! ;)

That is so pretty. We used ceramic tile thru a big part of our house, right now in the home theatre we have carpet but that at some point will get changed to something else. I really dont want carpet. We have spent nearly a year now looking at differnt options for flooring in that room, has to be something that wont affect the sound. I sure like the way your floor looks!
