How old is the puppy. Are you going to crate train her? What are you feeding her? Is she an American Staffordshire, or a Staffordshire Bull Terrier? ANY questions you have, by all means ask away!

thanks for all replies

she is a staffordshire bull terrier, only 6 weeks old. we have called her sapphire because she has one blue eye. lol. when we picked her up the owner had been feeding her pedegree puppy food so i have continued as she will be used to it. i am trying to crate train her but i know its a slow process. i want to try and make her new home safe and welcoming but without mothering her too much. she just wants to lie on my knee all the time the slightest noise makes her cower and she shakes. i feel so helpless for her but i know she has to get used to it. do you think i am too soft?

6 weeks is a lil too young to be taken away from her dog mummy and siblings, she will lose out on a lot of lessons her mummy will give her. But I'm sure u can give her lotsa of love and attention.
Also you'll learn alot here and all the nice people here will help you in any questions you might have.
Another thing, pedigree isn't the best food you can give your dog, go to the food section on the forum and you will see. And of cos Mordy will gladly help you with food issues :)
And last but not least..welcome

Well, You need lots of time and patience. I agree, 6 weeks is a bit young for the puppy to be seperated from her mom and siblings. You'lll do fine, though. :) :)
