I didn't know if I would have time to do this or not, but since I do not have to take it in until the 26, I was able to make a new top for the totem.
I think this one fits the new name perfectly. Whatcha think? I am finally finally done with this..all but the firing of her.

This dog will shrink 20 percent so it will be smaller than the one on the ball. Whew that one was not easy. I used b mix clay so it would fire up the same yellowish tone of the bones. The bag was hard and the clay is not the easiest stuff to work with but it does seem to give you longer to push it around, then harder to smooth out. Anyway it's as good as I can get it. Wore me out.

If if it pleases me..then I know it will please the public. I am sitting here just as happy as can be. Guess I better make something now to hold it just right so it can go through the kiln ok...guess I am not done. Sheeesh I forgot about that.

THat is how I saw it in my head from the start...with that kind of finish at the top. It just took me so long to get my sitting pretty girl done that I didn't think it would be possible. I am glad I did, I like her too. I am tired now. Back to birds. They are a whole lot easier. Quack out to be out of the bisque kiln tomorrow.

Those toe pads and the buckle and tag on the collar were two difficult parts because they were so darn small. I use reader glasses to magnify and made one very tiny ball for each pad, a itty bitty coil for the toenail and worked it in with a spotter brush. Tedious. I was really glad to be done with them.

What I also thought was funny was when I was making it i thought one eye really should be done over. THen I decided I was being nit picky and this thing really needs to be done as fast as possible. I set it down on top of a jar so I could go wash the built up clay off my hands. Before I could even rise from my chair it fell over and as I inhaled with a hiss..I grabbed it to find the only place really damaged was the eye that was bothering me in the first place so I scraped it out and put it in again right this time. guess things happen for a reason.
