Hello everyone,

This is my first post as I registered to be able to get in touch with English speaking pet owners as I currently live in Paris, France.

I'm the proud owner of a dog named Juki and I saw recently that an app for iPhone named AutoPet Translator could apparently "translate" the barkings of your dog and (but this is bonus I guess), post them on Facebook or on your own dog's Twitter account  .
The thing is, the app is only available for US and UK and therefore I cannot test it although I'm very curious to see if it actually works??

Has anyone out there tested it? It looks like a more "serious" application than the others I've seen since it seems to be able to detect if a human is trying to trick the app and imitate a dog's barking. I don't know if it's ok to post a link but here it is for those of you who'd like to test it (and tell me if it's good!:p )
AutoPet Translator for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad on the iTunes App Store

thanks a lot and sorry for any English mistake!

I don't know who you think you're trying to fool. The app says it's available in French and the Yu-Me games website is in French. Sounds like you're the developer trying to get people to buy your app. :dunno:

Wow :s I know the company is French (that's why I heard about it, makes any sense?) and I know that it says it's available in French but it's not on the French Appstore that's why I checked on the US one - you can go check for yourself since you can select any store by contry but not buy from it.
Anyways, thanks for the warm welcome and sorry for asking (trolling paranoia anyone?) :yikes:

Something was done back in 2001 with a self contained device and not an app for a phone. Basically it was doe entertainment purposes only which id what I am thinking this app will do, entertain you.

If their was something that could actually produce a translation from a dog's bark with accuracy I would think that we all would have one.

If I've unfairly judged you, I do apologize and offer you a warm welcome to the forum.

I did check the app store and the developer's homepage. It seemed suspicious, especially since the app was just released yesterday. But hey, I'm suspicious by nature. Hey, I think everyone is a spammer, including me. ;)
