New addition.

I lost my much adored 17 year old Tibetan Spaniel 5 weeks ago. We've been wanting to get another dog since then as she brought us so much joy and the house is far too quiet and dull without her.

I was going to purchase a pup but as has always happened to us a dog has found us. We never need to go looking for them.

So tomorrow we're collecting a 14 month old male long coat chihuahua. I can't wait.

We're getting him from a colleague of my mother's who feels that he's being left out as the other two more dominant chihuahuas tended to ignore him and just play together and bullied him a little.

I've never had a chihuahua before but it was one of the small breeds we were considering.

I'll post pics of the new arrival as soon as possible.

wow--17 years is a long full life--and I can understand how quiet things would be without your spaniel after all that time. Sorry that she is gone. I hope your new little guy helps to fill your house with joyful noise!

We had her for just 3 1/2 years of that time. I wish we'd had her for the entire time but the few years we had with her are so precious.

I will post pics and stories of our new arrival. I'm hoping he isn't camera shy as Pepi was. She detested the camera so you had to sneak up on her or take a pic when she was sleeping so I don't have many great pics of her but I treasure those I do have.

Well I've just had a major let down.

I won't be getting the dog tomorrow after all. The owner is considering keeping him until she leaves to go and work in London in a few months.

I'll find out what is happening and when I'll get him on Monday.

I'm extremely upset, from high to incredibly low in one day.

I know we'll get him in a few months but I was ready for him to arrive tomorrow. I've bought his food. I was so excited about getting him and now this.

I wish he hadn't been promised to us tomorrow. I'd have been fine if we'd been told we could get him a few months but to be told we'll have him tomorrow only to find out it'll be another month or two is a major disappointment.

I'm really sorry about your loss and now this . I'm confused though ~~ you said you pick him up on Monday ~ is this to foster until she's ready ?? That to me that would be boarding ! Don't be taken !

Sorry I didn't make that clear. On Monday I should find out when,and perhaps, if I'll get him, if it'll be one month or two.

aww I am so sorry to hear about both dogs. I am sure when you are least expecting an dog will come barging into your life and take over.
