Do these two things go hand in hand depending on breed? I have a 5 year old ACD intact male who sheds all the time. He is getting neutered next month as he was a show dog the first couple years of his life which is why he wasn't done sooner. Will neutering help the excessive shedding issues? He is also on a premium food holistic select which the main protein source is anchovy, sardine, salmon, and whitefish. He has had a troubled tummy in the past and this food is really helping. Any advice would be appreciated :)

He's going to shed regardless, sorry. :) My Aussie has been neutered since he was 18 months old and while he's got the proper wash n' wear moderate coat, he still sheds out small dogs at least twice a year.

I would agree...there is really no connection between neutering and the degree of shedding. Now, in some female dogs, they will shed more when they are in season. But really with a male it should make no difference.
