Neutering and Shedding??

Do these two things go hand in hand depending on breed? I have a 5 year old ACD intact male who sheds all the time. He is getting neutered next month as he was a show dog the first couple years of his life which is why he wasn't done sooner. Will neutering help the excessive shedding issues? He is also on a premium food holistic select which the main protein source is anchovy, sardine, salmon, and whitefish. He has had a troubled tummy in the past and this food is really helping. Any advice would be appreciated

He's going to shed regardless, sorry. My Aussie has been neutered since he was 18 months old and while he's got the proper wash n' wear moderate coat, he still sheds out small dogs at least twice a year.

I would agree...there is really no connection between neutering and the degree of shedding. Now, in some female dogs, they will shed more when they are in season. But really with a male it should make no difference.

Malcolm blows coat much less often since he was neutered ...
