They went after Teagan the other day when she stayed with Tyler. And they went into Tylers yard to do it. Tyler heard growling and Teagan screaming and running towards him, and of course as soon as the dogs realised Tyler was there they quickly turned around and went back home.

Now, after that Teagans not allowed outside unsupervised, but these dogs are ALWAYS in the yard and we actually never had an issue with them being agressive towards Teagan before and they pretty much ignored each other. And we would just chase them out of the yard.

I guess the owners of the dogs were outside an called them back into their yard when she realised what was happening and if I was there I would of marched right to her door and probably would of threatened the apocalypse on those dogs. Tyler really did nothing other than chase the dogs back into their yard.

Now Im trying to think of ways on how to deal with these dogs when I see them in the yard again. Should I throw them into my car and take them to the pound, or take them back to their owners.

These dogs are not just an issue for us, they are an issue for the whole subdevision. I know their male is still intact and roams and has jumped peoples fence and got their female preggers. And their other dogs just follow suit. The owners are pretty much idiots.

What would you do?

I'd just report them. I'm sure after a fine or two, they will be more careful.

Plus, atleast you have an end in sight, once y'all move :p

id report them! and then see what happens.

i hate confrontation, but do you think you could talk nicely to the neighbors about the issues at hand? some people are stupid and simply DO NOT know that its dangerous and disrespectful to let their dogs run like that.

i couldnt say anything without being a total b!tch, so i personally couldnt talk with them...

Depends on your relationship with the neighbor I'd think. Talk to your neighbor - let them know it can't happen again.

See thats the thing, we really have no relationship with them at all.

I might be able to now, although if the dogs tried to go after Teagan again, I would not and could not be nice. Im pretty sure they realise what issues their dogs cause, they juse don't care.

I would be tempted to go and talk with your neighbors first. I know that I have a tendency to assume things about people based on the condition or temperament of their animals, but sometimes nice people just don't have a clue about their dogs.

Reporting them right off the bat will definitely make them less likely to be considerate of you in the future.

But you have my sympathy! Give Teagan a hug from me!

Talk to them first, one of the most frustrating things I have experienced is being reported by my neighbors without a word from them. It has caused me to look at my neighbors with disgust, anger, and other annoying feelings.

Do you have a fence? Are you sure Teagan isn't ever out of your yard? Did Teagan start it? You know what they say about glass houses and stones, just be sure you totally righteous before you start a war because stealing my dogs to the pound would be war starting and well, some people aren't always virtuous in their reactions to such actions.

I may be paranoid but I figure better safe than sorry with my dogs, ya know?

If they are friendly enough for you to go get them, I'd leash them and bring them to their neighbors house to return them and then say how you would like if they could keep their dogs out of your yard. Maybe say your dog is terrified of other dogs or something to help them see some point. I mean a lot of it will depend on their attitude. Maybe they just have door dashing/fence jumping dogs and don't know what to do, in which case maybe offer some advice. But if they really don't care you might have to tell them, after returning the dogs a couple of times and requesting that they do something about it, that the next time you're bringing them to the shelter.

Is this in your new house? Have you moved in yet?

I'd report them and do everything possible to build a big, tall fence. Usually, talking to them doesn't help. If it did, they wouldn't be allowing their dogs to do this in the first place and they wouldn't need talking to.

I hope this gets rectified soon. Someone is going to get p.o'd enough one of these days and shoot their dogs, which they'd have every right to do.
