Since hurricane wilma, some of the fence broke, we fixed the main gate, or so what we thought. This morning I found the neighbor's dog in my backyard, he entered through a small hole in the fence. Now I'm suspicious if my dog's hot spot might be a bite mark, since the neighbor's dog has been known to be aggressive (dachshund). Now they have BOTH of their dogs outside running loose in the streets (a male and a female who just whelped a litter), the litter another neighbor says is in the front porch (just born). Animal control has removed animals from their house before (maxium of dogs is 4, they had 13) and who knows if they have more then the two dogs & the litter of pups, actually I seen the same female after the removal with another litter of pups, besides this one. And already had warnings of letting their dogs loose. They have no collar nor tags, and I doubt it they have had any vaccination. I hope they don't learn the hard way on why its not very smart to let your dogs roam on the streets. I called animal control yesterday, they never showed up. I'm tried of picking up THEIR dog's feces on my front yard and having to pick up MY trash because THEIR dog knocked it down, and I'll be heartbroken even if they are a meance that I find them in the streets dead because a car hit them. Since animal control never comes ( I called them numerous of times, they never come), should I call the police? People can't hardly jog or kids can't ride their bikes without those dogs chasing them.

The hot spot you mention may indeed be a bite mark and it may have abscessed. Chaz was recently attacked and I checked him out when we got home. He was sore but seemed OK. A week later I was petting him and his fur was all clumped. I cut the fur away and there was an abscess about the size of a dime. The infection sort of explodes through the skin.
I took him to the vet immediately and they put him on antibiotics. The next day he had to have surgery. He's fine (the main thing), however, my wallet is light $300.

If you haven't taken you pup to the vet, you should. If it is a bite mark, the more it gets infected, the worse it's going to be to your dog and your wallet.
If your vet thinks it's a bite mark, take the bill to your neighbor for payment.

We've been treating it with Allercaine (with bittiran II,antiseptic, anti itch spray 4 dogs) its suppose to prevent infection. We'll take him to the vet to be examed. I have a question thought, since our fence isn't 100% secure, we had two incidents where the dogs have escaped, but I immediately retrieved them from the neighbor's yard (the dachshunds yard), but when their dogs comes unto our property, they never remove them or pick up the feces. Can they have a compliant on us, since our dogs were on their yard? But our dogs never have been let allowed to roam free, it's just an incident where they had escaped.

Keep using the anti-infection spray, but if it is a bite mark the infection will get in the blood stream as the teeth of the other dog sink well below the surface.
As for the fence issue, I would hope under the circumstances it wouldn't be an issue. If at all possible, try to get a quick fix on the fence even if it's a piece of plywood until you can fix it properly.
As I was about to take Chaz out for a walk today (after responding to your message) I looked out my front window and the Rottweiller that attacked him is on my front lawn. I called animal control (this dog has a muzzle order for attacking Chaz) but they didn't catch it. I can sympathize with you about irresponsible neighbors and dog owners. I asked them at animal control if I have to move to be able to take my dog for a walk.

Thanks for the advice. We put the plywood we used for the hurricane to cover the hole. Sometimes I wish that animal control just would take the dogs, I know the owners love them, but if they're going to be irresponsible about owning the dog, its better animal control would replace them into a better home, where it could be well looked after and not be a menace to neighbors and their dogs.

Animal Control came yesterday, the dogs are still here, the officer gave them what look like fines, A LOT, probably for having the dogs loose & the missing shots.

Unrelated, there was this skinny yorkie loose on the streets today while I was coming home from school, I was going to catch it, take it home give it a bath and some food & water, then post found dog posters, but it ran away when I got close to it.
