So on Thursday I tested a Café for my newspaper ( I test three cafes a month and then write a short review about them) and the cafe I was assigned to wasn't exactly great. I mean from the outside it looked pretty noble (and expensive) but once you sat down... well lets just say, by the time I had my ice tea that was in a bottle, I could have brewed it myself. The waitress didnt come for about 20 minutes, and then the ice tea took another 15 minutes, and by the time my salad came; I wasn't even hungry anymore. The salad wasn't fresh, it looked like it had just come out of one of those bags... and didnt taste all to great for 7€.... Oh and my bottled ice tea cost 3€. All in all I was in there for about 2 hours just to eat a salad and drink something.
Anyways, I HATE giving bad critiques and I never know what to write in those kind of situations. Should I just write a bad review, or go back and give them another chance?

I guess if your purpose for being there was to write a review and you had a bad experience, then that's what you should write. When you write a good review you probably don't go back to make sure it wasn't a fluke, right?

Give them a chance GipsyQueen, maybe it was a bad and very busy day.
Second time, if it's all bad again, You Shoot!!! Let them know it's bad, it might help future customers to a better service.

I'd say give 'em one more chance, then tell it like it is (although if you feel the price is too much for mediocre food I'd put that in your review even if the service improves).

I'm with Pam on this one. If you don't test the places that you give good reviews twice just to make sure, I wouldn't go back to this place. Plus, it sounds like most of the "bad" stuff wasn't service related. It was just overpriced, mediocre food. I highly doubt they're going to brew you fresh iced tea next time, lol.

If your willing to give them a second chance your probably a better person then me. You went in to experience their service. I would write about what you experienced exactly as you did here.

I would write what happened.

But if you DO go back, I'd make sure to include notes from your first visit. It goes to show that there is NO telling who they are serving. :)

Well, before I decided wether to go back or not; I decided to check some other reviews... None of them were very good, they all leaned towards the negative side! So I'm not going back, they are getting a bad review, and Im prob. not going back there. I love how most waitresses get overly friendly when they see you writing down something.
