No I STILL don't have a greencard. I've been hopping from visa to visa for years while they sit around with their thumbs up their butts in stead of doing my d@mn paperwork. LOL but I'm not bitter can you tell? First it was this stupid lawyer who wasn't filing any papers when he claimed that he was ( we wasted over a year with this guy thinking he was doing the job he said he was doing... that'll teach me) then he said "OH I thought YOU were filing them" If I was filing them then why the hell would I be paying him to do something I was already doing? So then he offered to do it all for free... haven't heard a peep from him since and that was at least a year ago. Sometimes they don't ask anything and other times they practically give me a rectal exam lol. Just depends who I end up getting at the border and what kind of mood they are in. BUT.... maybe I shouldn't say this as it might jinx me lol... I have never actually been turned away at the border... just given a hard time. A hard time I can handle as long as I get to GO HOME!!!!

HAHA OK I guess I really needed to get that off my chest :D

Oh that stinks!!! We went through an organization when I moved here and they helped us file everything... it was relatively painless.

I know how they can give you a hard time at the border though, yikes. Hopefully it goes fine...

OH really? Was it an organization in the US or france? Do you think they are something I should look into that might help us out with all this stuff. it's really confusing.

They had an office in Philadelphia... I can ask hubby if he remembers the name... it wasn't cheap though, so that's something to consider.

yeah tell me about it. but we wasted so much time with that lawyer and we basically had to start almost from the beginning because he had done nothing.

I wish I had known you two before you got married. It would have been a piece of cake to get you here on a fiancee visa, then converted it to married and gotten you a change of status to permanent residency all at the same time. Your green card would normally come with or shortly following the permanent resident status.

It still shouldn't have been this big a deal to get you settled, lol. If things aren't moving by the time you come down this way again, get copies of all your paperwork and bring them with you. Or, if you want, send the copies ahead via mail and I can go through them ahead of time.
