need help with my dog tattoo idea

Ok... I'm getting a new tattoo next month done for free as a birthday present to me. Some of you may remember when I got the cross and fish on my right wrist. Well.. I'm getting James 1:2-8 inscribed on my left wrist.

BUT! there's another tattoo I want to get. I'm not going to get it right now, but I want to start working on my idea now. It's going to go on my right shoulder blade and it's going to be of Bamm since he's my first dog of my own and because he means the absolute world to me.

So now comes the ideas... I don't want him just standing or sitting in the tattoo because that doesn't really represent Bamm. I want him in action doing something since he's the dog that doesn't stop moving and action is completely Bamm's style... I was thinking about possibly him doing the weave poles since that's his favorite agility obstacle right now... sorta like the pic in my siggy... or him doing one of his play bows that he does with his usual playtime smile face on. I just really want something that reflects who Bamm Bamm is.

The other thing... I'm debating on having it look realistic or cartoony... I'm leaning more towards not realistic because Bamm is kind of a cartoony type of dog which is why he's known around here as the Bamma Lamma Ding Dong. Too realistic is prob too serious for him. Laurelin, if I go with a more cartoony look would you be up for helping me draw some ideas? I would love to have a tattoo drawn by you and if I go with the cartoony look I just LOVE your drawing style... let me know if that's a possibility.

I have plenty of time to think this over guys since I can't get it done right this second, but definitely help me out with ideas and opinions.

I don't have any ideas for you....I really bad at that tattoo stuff....took me a year to plan two paws on my foot!! LOL!

Hm... I'm liking either the idea of the play bow..... or of him weaving through weave poles, but kind of like....facing so you see right away his face?? I don't know if that made sense lol, it was kind of a hard thing to put in words, from the idea in my head

thanks guys. I appreciate everyone's input. I'm thinking I'm leaning more towards the play bow idea for sure. It's more his personality. Grammy... no one really sees any of my tattoos except for the really small one I have on my right wrist. I make sure they're in places I can hide if I want to especially because of my job.

I'm really excited about this. After I have the drawing ideas set up and I know exactly what I'm going to get then I've got to figure out what artist I want to use to tattoo it for me.
