Need help quick! Advice!

There are two young dogs outside our office bldg right now. One looks like a pit mix (female with puppy teeth) and one looks like a husky mix (female) but really small, she might still be a pup. They both have heavy chains and a padlock around their necks. What should we do? We've fed them and gave them water, but it's HOT outside. We called animal control over 5 hours ago. What would happen if I took them to a shelter?

I don't know... here you can relinquish strays to shelters with no $$ changing hands.

Call the shelter and ask?

I'd say shelter. Poor things do NOT need to end up back in the hands of some idiot who thinks it's bad@ss to put chains and padlocks on puppies.

And I'd be on the lookout to see who comes back to look for them - and get a license number.

Maybe take them to a shelter a few counties over and lie about where you found them, so that the ******bags that chained them have less of a chance of being able to find / claim them and get them back?

That's terrible! I recommend a shelter. If you have the time, you might do as YHNI said. I'd hate to think they might end up back in the hands of whatever jerk put those chains and padlocks on them.

The HS charges here ....I'm not sure about the Shelter ....most don't come out alive from there !

We work in the "ghetto" for lack of a better term, but gah, one of the females is so skinny and it seems like they are starving. I would hate to load them up and have someone see me and then get violent or weird. I'm torn, the nails are short and their coats look fine, I don't know what to do.
