My stepson's pitbull puppy (9 months) has been determined to have a low immune system that was inherited from the mother (breeder has been notified as per vet not to breed any longer).

The puppy has had problems with mites for a long time. He's been given baths, now on medication and more baths needed to try to resolve this problem before it gets worse. Vet said it could come back because of his low immunity.

He now got bit by maybe a spider and broke out immediately and his eyes were almost closing. Vet had him put on Benedryl and if condition doesn't improve by this morning, he has to go to vet.

Does anyone know of any supplements that can be given to improve the immune system in a dog? We really want to help him. Sinder (puppy) is so sweet and it just seems like this is something for life.

Thanks for any help.

Cats Claw is an excellent immune system booster. Is he feeding Sinder EVO? Sinder's going to need all the help he can get to stay healthy.

I hope the breeder takes the vet's warning seriously.

Sinder is being fed Blue Buffalo dry food with Eagle Pak wet food.

Do you think the Innova EVO would help?

I will mention the cats claw.

Thanks, Renee, for the advice.

Echinacea in the drinking water? I've read that helps. I don't remember where so I'm not sure it's safe for dogs.

Well, Carl & I went and bought the Innova EVO for Sinder. He loves it! The pet store I go to which only sells holistic dog food and products gave me a business card for a woman who runs a herbal store and can give us more info on what's good for low immunity.

Thanks everyone.

i can only highly recommend azmira immuno stimm'r (1 drop per 5 lbs of body weight), in combination with one of the other azmira skin detox preparations, but to recommend which, i'd need to know what exactly the skin condition is. has it been diagnosed as demodex (demodectic mange)?

please email me, i will put you in touch with someone who has developed a 100% natural treatment for demodex.

do get the azmira "immuno stimm'r" and also the "skin & pimple detox", both are given at 1 drop per 5 lbs body weight 3-4 times daily. for the first week you can double the dose to build up the therapeutic effect. buy these as soon as you can and get started with them, don't wait until you have the rest of the instructions.

i know of two people who have successfully used this program for demodex dogs, and it does work. be warned tho, it doesn't work as quickly as the "chemical" alternatives, but then of course you also don't have the side effects. :)

I feed Life Exxtension by solid gold. It is an immune boosting supplement I started after one of my boys was diagnosed hypothyroid.
