My best friend is needing to find a good and loving home for a purebreed Red Doberman. He is AKC registered. She is having a baby due on the 17th and would like to have him a new home by then. She cant handle having 2 kids and 2 dogs. We can't travel due to the pregnancy and would appreciate if the person(s) wanting Red would come get him. We live in Montgomery Alabama. Let me know if anyone is interested. And thanks for looking. Im hoping he finds a good home she was going to put him into the humane shelter before I told her I would do this for her.

What a shame !!! Why did she wait so long to re-place him ?? How about Dobe rescue ?? Two dogs aren't that much more trouble than one !

I'd think two dogs would be easier for her than one...keep each other occupied and all.

Like Bubbatd said, have her contact Doberman rescue before she drops him off at a shelter.

Does she not understand how to contact a rescue group? Does she need help in this matter? Just putting out a plea on a worldwide website for doglovers in general does little except for pointers like this...

She has been looking for a home for him for about 3 months now but we have had no luck. She told me last night that she was taking him to the humane society today and I really dont want to see him go there. He is a good dog, just a little excited because her husband (who wanted the dog) keeps him kenneled all day except to go outside. I was just wondering if anyone on here would want him.

Tell her to get into contact with the DPCA and they can put her in contact with a local Doberman rescue I would take him in but I just rescued a litter of 8 and a mother and we just had a litter of 6 born in the kennel but the DPCA can help her please don't let her drop him at the shelter being a male Doberman makes his chances of being PTS very high

Geez !!! Then she knew she was expecting when she brought the pup home !! Why, oh why !! ???? This just goes to show that there are many pups out there needing adoption through no fault of their own. No problems... just not wanted or needed any more !
