Missy is showing some very early signs of pain in her joints, probably early early arthritis. This happens usually after a lot of exercise, but sometimes she's pretty stiff after laying down for a long time. No one really notices this but me, but I want to be able to do something for her -- if I could prevent it from getting worse that would be amazing.
With Nikki, the vet just wanted her on Rimidyl or Tramadol ... and I REALLY don't want to do that to Missy, even if it is Much later down the road.

I read heard somewhere that chicken feet have glucosamine and chondroitin... Is this true? And would that help? Is there anything else more natural that I could try?

Any suggestions or ideas are appreciated ;) TIA

Yucca is an anti-inflammatory. I gave Mick ArthriSoothe and MSM. Is Missy a Cocker? (Sorry, I can't remember) I'm only asking because Mick was a Lab/Eng Setter mix. I found the ArthriSoothe formulated for dogs to be too expensive for a dog his size. I bought the horse formula and adjusted the doseage. The price was about the same per container. However, the dog one would have lasted me about a month, and the smallest horse one lasted a year.

i'd put her on a good quality glucosamine/chondroitin/msm supplement and a fish oil supplement.

Yep, chicken feet do glucosamine and chondroitin. I feed a raw diet, and mine get them as regular treats, and they love them!

Thanks for all the suggestions! I will look into all of them! ;)
She is a GSD, around 65lbs... About how much should she be getting, do you think?

I'm probably going to be taking her into the vet soon, just for a check up. Just to be safe

Try GlycanAid-HA Advanced Joint Health Formula. I read online that they conducted a challenge on a number of dogs with joint problems and the feedback was very good. I tried it on my German Shepherd, Diego, who's now growing old gracefully despite (he's almost 8 years now!). Before the supplement, the vet had to prescribe Tramadol or Rimadyl for the pain and nothing else. When I got Diego started on GlycanAid, there was really a remarkable improvement of his stiff joints. I know the vet would be wondering why I'm not asking for Diego's pain medications now.
