Since I got Meg in February, she has had a strange discharge from her nose when she is excited. It only appears if she is doing a lot of running or, much less frequently, if she is stressed. She seems 100% healthy, and never has any sort of respiratory problems.

The discharge is very minimal and very thin. It reminds me of that little trickle of toothpaste that creeps out of the corner of your mouth;) I intend to ask the vet the next time she goes, but as I said it doesn't bother her. Just curious if anyone knows what it is.

Thanks.

I'd check with the vet... I'd consider anything except clear a red flag.

I don't know about dogs, but my horse will sometimes have a white, nasal discharge after a hard ride. As long as it's not yellow or green I think it's ok. But as grams said you should just call your vet and ask.

whenever verbena gets excited or scared, it's like she's foaming out of the sides of her nose. I'm not too concerned about it. I think it may just be a reaction for some dogs who get worked up over something.
