Doc's initial plan was "low carb/more exercise/see the cardiologist". Haven't seen him yet (waiting on an appointment). In my experience, the first 10 or 15 pounds are fairly easy. It gets more difficult from here. I actually got down to 229 last year but let myself go again. Hopefully I can get down that low again and even lower. My height and build, I'd be happy with 205 or 210.

If it helps, often when men put their minds to it, weight comes off faster for many of them:D Best of luck, and you can do it!! I am down over 30 lbs now and it feels great!! My concerns were not so much cardiac, though thats always an issue, for me though the amount of diabetes in my family is startling.... I am hoping to avoid it by changing my lifestyle!

Great job eddie! I think you must be about the same build as Justin. Although he's fairly content when he's around 215.. still a little beer belly but sexy as ever. Keep up the good work!

I'm with you! I have to lose for health reasons as well--I'm on blood pressure meds.

Not sure if you are doing any kind of food tracking, but I started at this site on Monday and I really like it so far: http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/mysparkstart.asp

You can track your food and exercise. They give you meal plans if you want, or you can just enter your own. At the end of the day you can have it analyze your intake and it gives you pointers on reaching calorie goals, how many carbs, fat, protien, etc (I don't work for them I swear, I just really like it so far).

I use fitday.com when I track. Mostly I'm just watching what I eat at each meal and trying to be sensible.

The weather cooperated (stopped raining) and Xena, Mrs. Q and my younger daughter and I all took a nice long walk after supper.

Oh Eddie, I am sorry I haven't seen this before now!

I am glad to see you are motivated to self improve, so many are resigned to going on meds and rolling the dice  (my mom comes to mind *sigh*)

Keep going guy! I will be your cheerleader any time you feel the need :D (don't expect the ponytails and little skirt though :p)

Eddie, Sorry I missed this before....I'm out of town and not always able to use a computer. I am so rooting for you to keep up the terrific work at changing your life style. It's a wonderful thing to do for yourself and your family...the most important thing you can do actually. This will make all the difference. I wish you the very best and I bet things are going to improve as the weeks go by. Good luck!
