here I go again lol
Star is a three year old beautiful blue eyed female Sibe I rescued two years ago not long after Zeus. I had already learned the benefits of a shelter dog and knowing i could turn a shelter dog into a part of my team.
So it was summer and i did'nt have much else to do this one particular day so i decided to go to the shelter just to look
. Thats when I saw Star all not even a year yet old of her. She really stood out to me because she has the cutest black freckles on her muzzle and dark blue eyes. I bent down to the cage door and she came bounding up happy as can be to have someone come and pet her. She rolled right on her back while i was petting her through the cage wires. I knew I had to have her so i talked to the lady at the shelter she was infact the same women who helped me get Zeus and Tundra in the future. She told me that Star was brought in by her owners saying they could'nt control her and that she kept running away. So after filling out forms and Star going through all her medical procedures including getting spayed she got to come home.
Star has to be one of the sweetest dogs i have ever known. In fact I even tell people Star and Baby are the sweetest ones of the whole bunch. Star was a quick learner and loved to run with the team and really seemed happy with her new life. On her first race I was running a 12 dog team (on a count others were still in training or not in my life yet). It was a three day race and I was nervouse and was being pretty paranoid with my dogs. Hitch at the time was the lead dog infact that was his last year being lead dog. Star was a swing dog like Monty and she was excited from begining to end lol.
Star shall never know motherhood which is fine since she is one of my smaller girls a Siberians weight ranges from 35-60 lb and she weighs in the 50's. But boy does she ever love having puppies around lol. My three Sibe breeding bitches Nera, Roxy, and Iris can always have a break with Star around. Infact Star insists on climbing in the welping bed with the new mothers and puppies to help clean and care for them (luckily i have three very mellow mums lol).Star turns from midwife to sister when the puppies eyes open and they learn to walk and run Star is right there teaching and playing with them lol. And Star even seems to go into a great depression when the puppies go when their 12 weeks with us are up. I think in her mind she is a mum to everything and everyone. She takes care of ny neices and nephews like their just like helpless little puppies she's so maternal for three years old. Sometimes I wish she could have puppies i think she would have made a great mum. But really its for the best on so many levels and i think in all truth she has dozens of puppies out in the world they were just adopted lol.
And thats why she is my shining Star who would'nt love her?
