My Rats!

I always had hamsters when I was kid, and when I was about 12 my favorite hamster of all time, Sergeant Squeak died..and I begged my mom to let me get rats. She didn't want to at first...but I managed to talk her into it! Luckily I started out mostly right, even though we did absolutely no research! They had a big cage, and I got two instead of one. I did feed them a crappy diet though

I will always have rats!! But 5 is my limit from now on (Though I have had up to 30 at one point when I was doing rescue). And only boys!!

Aw, they're beautiful I had rats for years, and my last elderly two passed within a few weeks of each other about a year ago. I was lucky in that a good majority of mine lived to 3. When we move (really need an extra room, since we have a terrier who sometimes forgets it's not nice to stare, and they need a safe space for out of cage time) we'll have some join the family again.

When we move (really need an extra room, since we have a terrier who sometimes forgets it's not nice to stare, and they need a safe space for out of cage time) we'll have some join the family again.I have a rodent room (Its a really large closet with windows and a sky light) and that is where their cage is except for currently cause its way too hot up in my room..and the a/c isn't working up there. And then I have a spare bedroom across from mine that doesn't have any use currently, so that is where they free range at. Except currently, since they are in our office. I let them run around the hallway and office now and put the kittens away while they are out. No dogs are ever in the same room as them, or their cage for that matter.
