I have a 13 week old american bulldog female, shes a really happy pup, i praise her every second of the day. I have an outside room that i am using for a kennel that i am trying to wean her into living in it but everytime i leave her alone she barks and cries until she is let out, whether it be 10min or an hour. What can i do to stop her from barking so much?

There are a few things you can try including leaving her for 5 mins and then greadually increasing the time. If it gets too much, then getting a dog behaviourist in seems to work for many people. I find that if we leave our pups out and are in the house, the sense us and keep barking (rarely, but they do at times) however, a couple of times I have left and then snuck back to check and they had stopped....maybe she senses you're around?

G'day There,

here is my 2 cents for what it is worth

i would try taking her on a big walk or doing alot of exercise before you put her in the room.

that might just help ease some tension before you put her in the room

It will be hard at first but just perservere until she stops whining and be ready to praise her as soon as she does, try not to give into her whining otherwise she is making the rules not you

Hope this helps

My Alapaha is known for throwing hissy fits when left alone. So do you know what I do? I leave her alone and let her throw herself a hissy fit, which has lasted for hours. Then the SECOND that she is quiet she is let out and rewarded. Her hissy fits got better for a while, until my co-workers started catering to her and now she's bad again so we have to start from scratch. But it just takes a lot of patience and perfect timing.
