Chiquita is fully flighted and I will never clip her wings, he is an excellent flyer.

Oh boy, Chiquita Banana, what can I say. He is a very strong independent bird. He was not given any attention by his breeder, just to feed and give him water. He was not abused, was in good condition but never handled. So I had a task and I new it.

Chiquita is a pistol, filled with a ton of energy, keeps me on my toes. His favorite thing to do is to steal things. He is my little thief.

Chiquita is VERY loud and bossy. He eats like no tomorrow and I have found no food that he does not like.

He is very stubborn and was very hard to tame but we got there. It's still in the process.

Chiquita says some words, he says, "I Love You in Every Way", "Up Up" "Good Boy", "What are you Doing?" He picks up words SO quickly it's amazing. He will also say, "Weeeee." really loud when he is swinging on his house coat ties, that I have to say is very cute.

I have two parrots, Chiquita (an Indian Ringneck) and Boomer (a Green cheek Conure).

Boomer is fully flighted and I will never clip his wings, he is an excellent flyer.

Boomer was abused and neglected. When I first saw this little fellow I new he needed help. He was so frail and dehydrated when I got him. He must have drank a gallon of water. Boomer’s feather conditions were horrible it is a miracle he survived.

I took him tp the vets and he said if I didn't get him the poor baby would have died from starvation and dehydtration.

I really needed to bulk him up. I got him on a good diet and made him a lot of mash and healthy fatty foods to bulk him up.

Now he is happy healthy and full of energy. It was so sad to think how someone could neglect this poor baby! He is such a sweetie.

Boomer has a bunch of toys on my desk and he plays with them while I'm typing. We play "The Drop it Game." He will drop his toy balls off the desk and look at me all pathetic so of course mommy picks them up. He will do this all day long.

Boomer is now trained to step on my hand when I say "Up Up." He will also let me kiss his belly and snuggle him up a bit. He has come a long way. I will never understand how someone could EVER abuse or neglect this precious precious baby.

They are cute! Chiquita steals thinks and you still love him. :D How do you deal with that anyway? How is the loving way to punish your parrot? Just make sure that he don't say bad words to your guests LOL.

I just wonder if Chiquita is male. He is cute and looks like a girl. Well, a parrot girl. Are you sure that he is male? I am not familiar to parrots. Are there any physical differences between the males and the females?

Yes, Chiquita is a male. I named him before I new he was a male. I thought he was female at first since he didn't have a ring. Males get rings around their neck. But with other parrots Im not so sure how you can test. I know some have to get DNA tested to know the sex. Im not positive Bommer is a male. I just call him a him.
