Hi all, new to this forum and just love it !!!! Anyhow we just picked up our new puppy about a month ago his name is "Cooper" he is a mix between a golden retreiver and a labrador retreiver. Here is some pictures of him, can anyone with experience tell me what he will look like at adulthood? more like a lab or like a golden retreiver? how big can i expect him to be?
He loves to chew and actually he plays rough with the kids (mouths them) those baby teeth are razor sharp !!!
Any advise anyone can give me on this breed would be fantastic I am all ears and eager to learn as much as possible!!

Thanks in advance!

I think he'll look more like a lab, but with Golden coloration. He's a cutie !! From the size of the paws, he'll be a big boy !

Labs and Goldens can be VERY active dogs. It's vital that you give him an outlet to burn off energy everyday and make sure you get him to puppy classes for proper socialization!

I think he will favor the lab side. Gosh, he's a cutie. Both breeds love to be close to their family. I agree plenty of exercise is a must.

I agree

On the size...It really depends on the parents. I see 100lb+ Goldens and Labs these days. He could be a monster (size I mean) if both parents were big.

No matter what, I predict one very good looking dog!

How old is he and how much does he weight?

Boris was 20lbs at 3 months and is 85lbs now at 13, just for a comparison.

I got to say though, this is one adorable puppy!

Cooper is 10 weeks old and is 18 lbs, so I guess he will be 85+ lbs according to your calculations.
 Any advise on him mouthing the kids, he just wants to play but those teeth are razor sharp. Some times he jumps up on them and bites their clothes and then starts to pull, he has already ruined a number of pants and shirts. The kids don't play rough with him and I don't know where he gets his play style from (we do not play tug of war games with him). The kids say in a firm voice "NO" but that doesn't stop him only if I storm over and raise my voice will he start to stop.
Any help would be great!!!

I'm still having that problem occasionally with my golden Boris, Luca. I just totally ignore him and turn my back to him when he does it, and he stops right away. My husband doesn't always do it (he says 'no' etc) so he tries longer with him, I think ignoring is more effective.

I got the puppy from a breeder in southern Ontario, the litter consisted of 2 golden coloured and 5 black.
