You will have to tell me if they do really bark more than shelties. 
I kept trying to get pictures of this dog at the last show I went to but she kept standing behind the ACD.

From what I've read they can be barkers but can easily be trained to have an off switch. Ruthie has barked maybe three times since I brought her home but, what helps with that, is that her breeder instilled a very strong "barking outside only, never inside" understanding in all of her dogs. She's new though so maybe once she becomes more comfortable in her new home it will change. I hope not, lol.
