Yesterday, I was just talking to my roomie, and I had my hand resting on my keyboard...and all of a sudden I got electrocuted!! It kinda hurt, and my hand felt really funny for a good 5 mins...but it was fine, and I've been using it without problems since.

I just now happened to remember some story my dad told me about some ice-cream machine that shorted out and instantly killed a worker who touched it...and now I am a little nervous (yet, i am still sitting here using it, lol)

I am in Spain, so I am using a wall adapter to charge it...i dunno if that has anything to do with it.

Should I be worried?

YOu are soooo brave..I wouldn't ever ever touch it again. I hate getting shocked! Personally I would call (perhaps emailing might not be best) the company that made your laptop and ask them.

Oh wow........electricity scares the crap out of me! Kevin can't even get me to twist wires when the circiut breakers for the entire house is OFF! LOL

Kevin is due home very soon, I will ask him what he thinks.........(I doubt he knows much about Spain, but he is a pro at electricity here in the states & laptops)

Kevin said his shocks him sometimes too.........electrostatic because of the metal. But I don't know if electrostatic would leave your hand feeling funny for 5 minutes  I would be concerned depending on the shock you got.

He is out helping the boy fix break lights on the truck right now ;)

first off i would get a cheap electrical outlet tester that will show you if the outlet is wired correctly, here they're usually under $20
because if your outlets are wired wrong it could be even worse with a metal appliance, at least most laptops are plastic

your laptop is low voltage, and at least can't kill you :yikes:

It is unlikely that the computer itself is the problem
Whenever is sit at my desk at work I shock my laptop, due to the big plastic floor mats and the metal covers on the speakers on the front of the laptop

I work with static sensitive stuff all day and have to be grounded
it normally take about 3000 volts of static for you to fell it
if you have ever touched a door or someone else and heard that snap, that's about 17000 volts
and none of this can "hurt" you, its not the volts that kill, its the current
but on the other "HAND" its like saying "it's not the heat it's the humidity" :lol-sign:

but like i said, get a cheap outlet tester, its a handy thing to have, and check all your outlets
the most dangerous outlets are kitchen and washer and dryers

Kev, i thought of ESD, but just didn't think it could be all that painful. But then I remembered I had a cat who was so ESD sensitive, she would hiss whenever I stood on a carpet and accidentally sparked her. I seriously considered wearing a wrist strap around her.

some people might just be a little more sensitive then other :yikes: :lol-sign:

it all depends how much static you charge up
the carpet and plastic mats at my work have made me jump back a few times shaking my hand, when going to open a door
