Some of you may know we are sort of boarding my horse Delsin (DJ) at my cousins farm in PA. Well we got a phone call this morning from my cousin saying that Delsin is missing!!! I have not seen Delsin in months but that doesent mean I love him any less he is a wonderful horse. He is 19 years old, 15hh, has titles in barral racing, and was once a stud horse and we sold his offspring for quite a bit of money. Anyways he was also a sort of gift from my deceased grandpa. He left both my sister and I money when he passed away to each buy a horse of our own since my father would never let us.

My sister has since sold her horse Ollie but I kept DJ paying my cousin for his keep. His daughter Josie has learned to ride on DJ and even did a few kid shows. My cousin thinks a few things could have happened. He could have been stolen (the gate was left open), someone with a problem with my cousin may have just came and let him loose, he may have gotten out on his own though my cousin swears up and down he locked the gate so the horses can't get out.

So now im sitting here freaking out and also feeling guilty. It is a three hour trip to my cousins and it doesent make since to make the trip. Because we may not find Delsin and then where would I be? I don't know im still on the fence with that one. Im seriousely in tears right now. I swear if its not one thing its anouther.

Please keep my horse in your thoughts.

I would make the trip. Put up flyers and call the police.

I would die if one of my horses were missing

OMG how did he go missing? Are the fences secure? Do you think someone stole him?

Scary!

I'd go too. I'll be thinking of you and DJ!

When I was young we had horses. We had a large barn and at one point had 5. Well we had one Arabian that was smart as a whip...she could open her stall and escape...lol....she didn't stop there though...she would always let everyone else out too...every new measure that my parents implimented to keep her in her stall she foiled like a seasoned safe cracker...I miss being around them.....anyway....I hope they find your boy. :D

Has your cousin called the police? Called the neighbors? Was DJ the only horse they had, or just the only horse missing? If he was an only horse, hopefully he just took himself down the road to visit someone else.

I hate to ask, but is there a slaughterhouse in the area? Auction house? If so, can your cousin get down there to look around and hand out photos? Don't trust to phone calls - that's like calling the pound looking for your lost dog...

I think if the gate was left open, he's not too far away. is he a stallion still? he might be off on a visit to a neighbor's gal. I hope you find him. don't panic yet, not everybody can steal a horse. :) :) he's on a bit of a romp I bet. (((hugs)))

They found him!!!! My cousin was driving around with friends and left his wife at home to make phone calls. She ended up getting a phone call from someone in town saying they saw a loose horse in an open pasture and said it looked like DJ. So my cousins wife called him and said about where the caller had seen DJ.

The ended up find him him 10 miles out of town standing on the outside of a fenced in pasture with a bunch of other horses. He then spent anouther fun filled hour and a 1/2 trying to catch him. He then had to call his friend and have him bring out the trailer so he could get him home.

I am so SO happy they found him. He's not home just yet as my cousins wife just called me so I don't know what kind of condition he is in. I am thankful for their small town and for Delsins popularity because if not for that the woman would not have noticed him or knew who's horse he was. He is rarely ever left in the pasture over night and im not sure why he was. He lives with three other horses at my cousins and all four of them have their own stalls.

I don't know all I know is we are so SO lucky to have him back. So unreal.
