My friend has a 12 month old lab cross that she got from a shelter. he is perfectly house trained whilst she is at home but when she goes out, even for only 5 minutes, he has accidents all over his room. can anyone help?

Gee he is a year old. Maybe if he could somehow confine him. There are large crates for big dogs. He shouldnt be left to run free when alone maybe.

Is there an enclosed yard that is safe to put him in that he cant get out of or anyone get into.Maybe he gets nervous in the house by himself.

Maybe this is why he was in the shelter. He might have had this problem with his last owners.

I know you will get much better advice soon anyway. I am no dog expert for sure. I am just guessing here.

Honestly, It sounds like it could be seperation anxiety.

He may have a problem because he was abadoned.

A trainer(there are some on here) can probably give some advice about how to deal with this.

thanks. he doesnt have a crate but he has his own room with a safety gate on the door. she isnt too keen on putting him outside whilst she is out as he is a barker.
