he is not blue, he is now dark grey and change color in dark, i had this color before and it changed
Sorry, I call dark grey dogs, blue. Like blue great danes and pitbulls. They are all dark grey, but called blue in the USA. Either way, I thought Filas only came in fawn and brindle. It's neat to see the other colors.

Too bad it's not in the standard, it's really beautiful! I agree, they are loveable regardless of color!

Beautiful dogs. :)

The true standard of a Fila is what's on the inside of the dog, not on the outside ;)

There are several coats that aren't accepted as "standard" by the FCIC or the other org (I forget the letters), but only because the old Fila ranchers in Minas Gerais won't part with their dogs in those colors because they prize them highly. One is a Fila that is predominantly white with brindle markings. Truly beautiful and virtually impossible to get one from Brazil. A friend of mine fell in love with the coloration when she was on a trip to Minas Gerais looking for dogs, and was heartbroken when she kept getting told no. She was thrilled when one of her Brazillian dogs threw a pup in that coat :)

According to the Fila grapevine, Clelia has been fighting tooth and nail to keep the black Filas from being accepted as standard. I don't know how true that is, but . . .

Renee, I know in Minas Gerais are some filas with much white, what is not accepted by FCI, I find all that stupid, why not accept any colors by dogs??I must say, all people they come to me, like most that color, that isnt accepted by FCI
Black color you become very little in one liter, too when both parents are black. From CAFIB is black not accepted.

That's a really cool color. It's the first I've seen it on a Fila.

Oh my goodness, I'm in love. :D Your dogs are simply STUNNING! It's such a shame we don't have them in Australia. Stupid BSL bans. :(

Cass.
