I bought this when King was recovering from his anal sac removal surgery, and was pretty miserable. He and Molly love it. It was at Kroger's and was on sale for $1.99 a pouch, it's normally $2.69. King is a pretty picky eater, and I was shocked to see him gulping this down like Molly does everything else.

Since he's back up to "full power" now, he's playing his usual head games to get Molly to not eat (It's all a game normally, he's just messing with her, and doesn't eat all his food, let alone hers) but with this stuff, even though I feed her out of eyesight, I have to force him to eat his and leave her alone, or he will make insane attempts to intimidate her, and actually eat it. I just give it to them once in a while, it's a lot of money for the amount of pouches they would need to just feed them the stuff all the time. I actually think King could get fat if I put this stuff out all the time!

The ingredients in those look decent, but the protein is way too low! You would have to supplement with fresh meat to make it a good meal.

On a side note, my girlfriend called me yesterday from Walgreen's because she wanted to buy some of their treats. The ingredients included corn syrup and hydrogenated vegetable oil! These guys make themselves sound like a small-time business devoted to making healthy treats for our dogs, but it looks like a more corporate operation.

Just look at their store locator to see all of their retail stores, plus the places that carry their products (grocery stores, etc.).

They started off as a small business here in my hometown and did so well that they have since expanded into more areas. It's generally what successful businesses do.

I don't feed the entrees because it would be too expensive, but I do love the treats. People can eat some of them too, like the Lick n' Crunch and Woofers. The lick n' crunch are like healthy oreos.

Those are the ones with corn syrup (refined sugar) and hydrogenated oils (trans fat).

Maybe I'm just weird, but I've been on this no (or little) corn syrup kick lately and I guess I don't want the little guy to have any, either.

I'll have to go dig through the inventory (the boarding resort I work for carries all the TDB stuff, except for the dry kibble) and check out ingredients a bit closer.

Can't say I blame you. Corn syrup has a much worse effect on the body (and blood sugar levels) than even regular cane or beet sugar.

All I can say is that is WAY expensive. It would cost me 8 bucks a day (4+ pouches at 1 per 20lbs of weight) just for my GSD.

I guess if you have a little dog it's ok but anyone with big dogs or more than one, it's not very cost effective. You could make a well balanced home cooked meal for much less, or feed raw for much less.
