when my dog just bites the end of the leash and runs i cant catch him. It is really hard to get him to go back to the backyard. When he runs away from my direction and goes after the car it is really dangerous and i cant catch him. does anyone have any sugesstions on how i can catch him and prevent him from chasing cars

The only way you can keep him from chasing cars is to keep him on the leash or in an enclosed back yard. At least you know that you can never take him to an offleash park or let him go.
You'll have to work on training him to loose-leash walk nicely. That will help with the pulling on the leash. A good recall is very important as well.
