i tried feeding her the 1 year old + adult food, but she seems to sniff it and not eat it right away. however, when i feed her the puppy food she scarfs it down.

can i still use puppy food to feed my 1 year old dog?

(btw i use IAMs brand)

try mixing the 2 foods, using less new and more old food, gradually increasing the amount of new food and decreasing the amount of old food until all she is eating is the new food. This will make the transition less extreme for her.

First, I suggest switching, there are better quality foods out there.

Second, your pup is still considerer a pup at just one year old.

How abruptly did you change the foods? You may need to slow the process down and allow for your pup to adjust to the new food.

Tons! :D

But, really, I would go to Mordy's site, www.petfoodproject.com and see for yourself what happens to be in foods like Iam.

Better foods for your pup... any by Natura; I like Nature's Variety; hmm, also Natural Balance. I'm stumped, but there's more out there.. you'll find them at the site I mentioned above.
