Yes, mushy post.

But for all the trouble she's been, all the minor behavior problems, all the destruction, Mia is pretty awesome. Okay, they BOTH are really awesome.

We went on a 4 mile hike today. Afterwards both were up for a romp in the field. They both behaved perfectly off leash and on leash. No reactions to other dogs even if the others were reacting to them. They kept up my brisk pace more than well. Afterwards Mia got the zoomies around the field. Then we came home and played ball. What more could you want in a dog?

Sometimes I think I spend too much time planning the next dog I'm going to get that I forget how completely awesome and amazing my current two are.

I do this. Sometimes I spend so much time thinking about other dogs and what I'm going to do with them that I forget just how terrific Eve is, and how I really already have the dog I want.

Summer and Mia ARE amazing!

I do this, I know I do. And to be honest, you don't realize just how much you do it until you've lost one of those amazing dogs.

Yay for mushy posts. Your dogs are amazing, my dogs are amazing, all dogs are amazing.

Completely understood and agreed. I recently realized I've been doing this, and I don't understand why, because my dogs are exactly what I need and everything I want. Millie is my best friend and I want to treasure the time I have left with her and not think about getting another dog right now.

I'm so glad you had such a great day. I know we always tease you about how "bad" Mia is, but we know she's a good girl. ;)

Haha, yes I do post most of Mia's 'bad' exploits but she's a really sweet little dog.

I KNOW I spend too much time planning the next dog I won't get for years to come. I've got the two best dogs for me right now already. I know I personally need to focus more on them and how fabulous they really truly are. For some reason it hit me while I was hiking today.

It was a good day. 70 degrees out and not a cloud in the sky. Nothing like spending all afternoon with your dogs on a gorgeous day. :D

Your girls ARE awesome! Seriously. I love your posts and I feel like I know your two so well just through Chaz. They seem like amazing dogs.

I do get this, totally. I mean, I honestly don't really ever take Jackson for granted. I always tell people, both real life and online, how awesome he is. But I do think I spend a lot of time thinking about a second dog and what I will do with it, etc.... but then I always sit back and realize I've already got a dog who is basically capable of anything and think 'why do I NEED another dog?' I don't. I'm very happy with the dog that I have. If anything, I'm scared a second won't live up to him.

I hope you are still feeling the same way about your little angel, after the glasses incident :rofl1: lol, sorry, couldn't help myself!!

I LOVE hearing about their antics... Both good and... not-so-good :p lol

If you meet the right one, they won't have to live up to him ;) They'll stand up on their own, and be just what you need in other ways. :D Trust me!

Oh, this, definitely. Millie is my heart dog and no other dog can live up to her. I was afraid I would be too critical when I got Lucy, even though I wanted her very much. Lucy's a hellion, she's not as intuitive or intelligent as Millie, but she doesn't have to be. She's an awesome little dog in her own right, with her own set of quirks and admirable qualities. :)

I've been feeling this way about Molly lately. No, she doesn't walk nicely on a leash. Yes, she has difficulty not jumping on me. And no, she doesn't like people and will bark at them. But I've been taking her to the new dog park that opened just a few miles from us, and she's showing me every time what a good, solid dog she is. I know a dog park isn't the ideal place for a dog, but it's the one place where she's calm around people. It's good for her to be exposed to people in a non-threatening space and I haven't been able to provide that for her. When at the park, she listens to me, coming when I call her, sitting when I tell her, staying when I tell her to. She runs around politely with other dogs, but comes back every couple minutes to check in with me. She never forgets that she's there with me. And I love it.
