Ok here's the deal. My dog goes outside 4x a day. Once in the morning, once in the afternoon, once in the night, and once before I go to bed. I also leave newspapers on the floor so he can use the bathroom in the middle of the night. He usually always uses it on the papers but once in a while he'll decide to go to the kitchen and pee where he's not supposed too. When he does do something like this he knows what he did was bad and he hides under the table. Now for the past week he's been peeing places he's not supposed to. Does anyone has any idea as to why he's having these "accidents"?

I would try not giving him any water 4 hours or so before bed, then taking him out right before bed. He may not have to pee during the night at all. You might also put up a barrier to the kitchen so he can't get in.

I dont think with holding water is the answer. It honestly sounds like hes NOT house trained.

I think you need to go back to the basics with your dog and crate him at night if hes still having accidents. I'm not sure how old your dog is.. but I'm assuming it might be the one in your avator(?)...

Anyways, kennel your dog at night, and kennel your dog when you aren't available to watch him if hes still making messes in the house ;)

Completly get rid of the papers down for him to pee on. Its an added step that is not needing when house training a dog. It just creates more hassle then is needed.

I have no basis in fact here, but I just always had the gut feeling that putting newspaper down for the purposes of peeing kind of tells the dog it's ok to pee on the floor, so why wait?

He's 5 and this is the year that he's been peeing in diff. areas. Could it be because now he started traveling a lot. On mon-thurs(morning) him and I are in my grandmother's and from thurs-mon(morning) him and I are in my mother's house. Could that be making act up?

I agree with getting rid of the newspapers . Are the problems more at your Mother's or your Grandmother's ? At which house were his first 4 years spent and was he completely toilet trained ? This could be more of an anxiety problem .

I would get rid of the papers on the floor and do some crate training again and treat him almost like a puppy that has never been house broken. Being in the crate where he wont go pee will teach him to hold the pee throughout the night so when he earns being out of the crate, he should maintain holding it throughout the night

He was raised in my mother's house. Most of his accidents are in my grandmother's house. I'll try the crate training again lol I'm sure he won't like it.

Thank GOD Tosca doesn't sleep on the bed. As it is with the three cats, I have mastered the art of sleeping in the form of a corkscrew.
