I didnt tell anyone before because we weren't sure exactly when it was happening but here it goes...

History:

When he was 20 he broke his femur in a car accident. Later cut himself out of traction and his leg is now shorter than the other

Dad had a MAJOR heart attack in 1995. They had just came out with this drug that helped bust up the clots and that saved his life. He had 2 major arteries that were 95% blocked and another that was 80%. He had angeroplasty (sp?) done (were they balloon your arteries and stick mesh in them to keep them open)

In 2000 (I think) he had another heart atack. Wasnt as bad as his first one. I think he had angeoplasty again.

2006 He went to the Dr for his anual stress test. They wouldnt let him finish it. So they sent him of to a specialist. His arteries are right up there like they were at his first heart atack that he barely lived through. Except this time the blockages are too long to balloon. One week from today (may 16th) my dad is going in for open heart surgery. He is haveing at LEAST a tripple bypass and posibly a fourth artery. They whont know untill they go in there. I will be leaving on Monday and will be staying with my mom in a hotel in Edmonton for the week he will be in the hospital so I whont be around at all probably. If I get a chance I will update you guys.

My mom is on the verge of having a nervous brake down and is trying to be strong for dad. But I know as soon as dad is wheeled away for surgery that she will brake down. My cousins (2nd cousins actually but more like an aunt and uncle) are comming down to be with us. They are mom's age, and will be there the day of the surgery.

OMG I am so scared for him. I know I cant brake down because of mom, but I really want to! Im on the verge of crying every day. Not just because of dad but John and I are also on the verge of ending our 2 1/2 year reltionship and engagment.

John is going to look after Emma and Jazz. Dan also said he would take them if need be. I am going to see if john will go to their trining classes. I hope hee will because they will miss two.

I just need oyour guy's happy thoughts for everything.

-Jenn

PS
This is why I have been testy latly. Im sorry.

Ahhh, that sucks. But modern medicine is amazing and your dad's obviously a fighter. My family went through something similar (if it helps, my dad survived multiple heart attacks, two comas, diabetes, and lived with hearth failure for ten years, so a big health problem doesn't always mean the worst) and the stress is incredible. Try to get your mom to take it easy whenever possible. I hope everything works out.

I'm sorry. If your worried let it out, you'll be even better support for your mom then. doctors are amazing now and can fix so many things that were once the most difficult surgeries and I am sure everything will go great.

Jenn I totally understand what you're going through, I went through the same thing 4 years ago, although it wasn't quite the same kind of surgery... It's really a hard time. I'll think about you and your father and hope everything goes ok!

Chin up Jenn . We're all here for you with good thoughts and prayers. There have been more success stories than failures. I imagine he's about the same age as David Letterman and I think his was a quadrupole bypass. Big ((( HUGS))) from Grammy !

Jenn hun,
You know you have a person to talk to here. If you need to pm me!
I will keep you, your dad, and your mother in my prayers. This is a very difficult time for any person or family! Sometimes letting it out helps.
Keep good care of yourself and keep in touch if you can while your gone!
