My dad just called the cops..!

I'm up in my room and I hear the doorbell ring. Its 11pm here. I hear my dad answer the door and say something about calling someone. A few minutes later I go into my parent's room and while asking my dad what that was all about, I see that he's loading his gun! My dad says that some guy came to the door claiming that he was beat up and my dad called the cops for him. The guy is sitting on our front porch now, my dad is downstairs keeping an eye on him and the alarms on the house are all set, just in case. Sometimes I'm glad I have mean dogs.

Oops, I hear my dad downstairs asking him through the door if he needs medical attention...

Ok it turns out its the neighbors behind us. He got beat up by his brother. There is drinking involved. They have a history of violence.

I'm so afraid that I might be put into a situation like that . My instinct would be to let them in .... but I know I wouldn't dare !!! I always keep my storm door locked , but can talk to whomever is at the door and call 911. Glad that you're all safe !!!

Well the cops came and chatted a bit with him on the porch, and then they all went back over to the houses behind us. Everything is ok now. The police knew who the guy's brother was and everything because, like I said, there is a history there. It doesn't usually involve us though. I guess he chose our door to knock on because we're one of the few houses with lights still on, everyone else goes to bed early because they have little kids.

My dad would've probably shot him if he came stubbling up to our house, as we live out in the middle of NOWHERE it would have been REALLY weird to have someone come knocking on our door at 11pm.
I'm glad your dad called the cops.

Hey at least you got dogs who will protect your and your family, Jet on the other hand would let them right in... *rolls eyes* LOL

Glad your dad kept it all under control. I don't blame him for getting the gun ready..........never know if that guy had a "made up" story to get in the door, or was on something, or would have the guy responsible for his beating show up at any minute.

Wow... if someone knocked on MY door that late at night I would probably hide under my bed and call the cops right away... but then again... that's the kind of neighborhood I live in...
