:hail:hello im a new member im in the united kingdom can someone give me some help and advice please imran is now 6mths old when we go out he howls and barks the house down i have two other dogs a rotty and a staffy we leave the radio on for dogs while we go out for 2 hours neighbour has started to complain about his howling and barking im at my wits end just dont no what to do

Wish I could help ! I've never had the problem . I hope that your neighbors understand that you are concerned too .

I'd say its separation anxiety. You need to show him that good things happen when you leave the house, give him a kong full of flavored stuffing and make sure he gets lots of loving when you get back. Try just leaving for a few minutes at a time and working it up to longer and longer. Eventually, he shouldn't be so upset when you leave, he may just be looking for his treat.

thank you so much for replying i have tried all that i was told hes trying to be top dog over my other two dogs which is a 6 year old rottweiller and 9 month old staffy bitch who ive only had two months

I've never seen a dog express dominance that way. If that is the case, though, you or your SO need to show Imran that you are dominant and not him or either of the other dogs.

It has nothing to do with being top dog etc. I agree separation anxiety. (how would barking having anything to do with status. Not that I buy into the 'the human needs to be the alpha BS' but with in my dogs, even the low status dogs bark like crazy!

It's not dominance, it's seperation anxiety. look for seperation anxiety in the training forum, i'm sure there's good advice there. Good luck!
