I'm obsessed with musicals, especially Broadway ones so I decided to start a thread about them. Anyone else here love musicals and if so, what do you like?

Right now I'm loving RENT and Wicked...hmm they both have Idina. I'm seeing a pattern.

There are many others that I love but I fear that list would get waaaay too long. lol.

Years ago when I was in New York I saw Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Nunsense, Once on this Island, and one more that I can't remember. I have since seen tons at Indiana University but nothing compares to seeing them on Broadway!

I've only ever seen Cats (I was like 7 and completely enthralled) and Thoroughly Modern Millie (8th grade drama club trip).

I would kill to see RENT on Broadway :D

It'd be a little bit of a drive to NYC, eh? :p

I'm luck I only live about 2 hours south of NYC, but nobody ever wants to go with me *Harumph*

I was very into musicals when I was in high school (can you imagine how popular I was:rolleyes: ?).
The ones I've seen live: Les Mis, Phantom, Miss Saigon, Jekyll and Hyde, Into the Woods, Oklahoma, Chess... All I can think of right now.

Miss Saigon is probably my favorite to see performed - they actually fly a helicopter onto the stage! Chess and Into the Woods are my favorite "sing along" musicals on long car rides.

The one I would love to see most is Aspects of Love. I adore the CDs and have read the play the musical is based on, but I don't think it ever took off the way most of Andrew Lloyd Webber's stuff did. I can't imagine why.

I LOVE musicals, and we get quite a few off broadway tours here, so I see them whenever I can.

I just saw Wicked a few weeks ago. It was fantastic! I'm dying to see RENT. I have the original broadway cast recording. Rent, the movie, is one of my favorites as well....

When I was in London I saw Anything Goes, The Lion King (which was beautiful), and Mamma Mia!

Since then, I've seen Mamma Mia (again), Aida, Hairspray (which I loved), and Wicked. Next year I'm getting to see Moving Out, The Producers, and Chicago through the off broadway tour that is coming to my university. I'm so excited.

My favorites so far are Wicked, Hairspray, Mamma Mia, and The Lion King- of the ones I've seen.

And Idina is awesome. ;)

I love musicals and have been obsessed since I was a little girl. I know all the words to all the songs in My Fair Lady. That one is my absolute fav. And The Sound Of Music. I also love the music in South Pacific, Music Man, Oklahoma, The King and I. I liked the movie, The Phantom of the Opera but hated the main guy's voice...loved the two gal's voices. Haven't seen the more modern ones. I've heard good things about them, and again from some of you. LOL. Those old ones are probably too corny for the younger generation, but the words, music, acting etc is super. Some fantastic voices too.

In highschool, our music/drama dept put on musicals each year. What a fun experience that was to play in them.
