Is there a small annoying habit your dog does that drives you batty?
Sort of like the "he smacks his lips after he talks" of human relationships? lol

It's NOTHING a casual friend of Merlin's would notice and really only people who live with him or spend a DECENT amount of time with notice.

But he's a mouth breather :rofl1: lol bad.

It's so funny because he KNOWS it drives me nuts and if I'm on the computer and he's a foot away from me mouth breathing, I'll look at him and he will stop, and then when I look back at my computer go back at it again.

He just....likes to pant.
I've spoken to the vet and I've even spoken to a behaviorist about it... he isn't stressed (although he does pant when he's stressed but it's of a different kind), he isn't hot, his coat is fine, his health is fine, his lungs are fine, he is perfectly healthy and happy

he just likes to express this by breathing with his mouth open LOL

He doesn't snore, he doesn't sleep pant, he is PERFECTLY CAPABLE of breathing quietly with his mouth closed and does it when he's focused or working or playing.... but if he is content and bored? PANT PANT PANT PANT PANT

Don't make me feel like a terrible mother... there has to be something they do, that although it may be small and insignificant, makes you go UGHHHH STAPPPP ITTTTTTT

Mia honestly has no habits that annoy me. Seriously. I don't know why but nothing she does annoys me. By all intents and purposes she should be far more annoying and is to most people. I guess I'm biased since she's my heart girl. She's convinced me she poops gold.

Summer snores and also is a loud panter when excited. She also licks all the time and it annoys me.

The bad part is I don't mind Mia licking but don't like Summer licking. I think it's cause she's so rough about it and aims for the mouth. My sister has the same reaction- Mia licking is ok but Summer licking is not. If she'd just tone it down a bit....

The only thing Nola does that annoys me is when we play ball, she freaking screeches like a banshee. It's the highest pitch, most ear piercing sound you can imagine. I guess it really only annoys me because all her barks are deep and strong for her size, but this one....:eek:

Aside from that, she's **** near perfect.

Sally likes to lick All The Things. If I put lotion on my legs she will follow me around trying to lick them. Jack is a messy drinker. He just holds the last swallow of water in his mouth and dribbles a trail of it away from the dish, or better yet gets in your face and slobbers it on you.

Peewee was a blanket/bed licker. Ok he would just lick what ever was handy. He would start licking himself, I would tell him to stop. So he would start licking the blanket, bed or pillow. Ugg it was like dog, I wasn't telling you to stop licking yourself. I was telling you to stop licking PERIOD. I.AM.TRYING.TO.SLEEP.
Ivan is a groaner when sleeping. He moves he groans, he twitches and he groans. I.AM.TRYING.TO.SLEEP.
Phoebe only time will tell.
Yes I take my sleep seriously. LOL

Gambit is a little turdbucket manipulator. As he gets comfortable with more people, he's also learned how to pick an easy mark. If I discipine him at work, he pouts off to the nearest petson who will bby him. If I deny him something, he just moves on to the next person. No one wants to tell him no and risk not being his friend any more, and the little brat knows it. My favorite is when someone gives him the forbidden tret, and he immediatly brings it to show me, so I'll know he tricked someone into giving it to him.

Gimmick has taken to jabbing me with one of his pointy little legs when he wants something, which I hate

Wesley pokes you in the boob in the morning to wake you up.

Right now, Feist's thing is magically making socks materialize to chew on.

Auggie does this sloshy-slurpy-licky thing after he eats but only sometimes - only when he wants to annoy me. I KNOW he knows it annoys me because often he will walk into the room, look at me, and THEN start doing it. WHILE STARING STRAIGHT AT ME.

Rowan likes to lick lotion/Vaseline off of my feet. He doesn't go for lotion anywhere other than my feet. Vaseline is fair game, any time, any way. He'll even try to go through my socks to get it. Gross. Otherwise he's perfect. ;)

Riff is constantly licking weird things. Clothes, carpet, hard floor, cabinets, the outside of the fridge... ugh!

Ozzy has no redeeming qualities. Everything he does is annoying.

Indy is a pacer, but I've learned to tune it out.

Enzo is a couch licker. She's literally licked holes in the sofa.

Roxie does this too. She especially has a thing for licking people's pant legs as they walk by. It's like if she has a question about the world, instead of us using google... She just uses her tongue. I'm happy she just doesn't lick gross things like poo.

Oh you're lucky, Riff used to eat poo at the daycare! Luckily since I stopped working there, he's stopped... fingers crossed! Funny that she does it too, though. It's so weird, especially when they're licking your pants. He gets this weird zen zoned out look on his face while he does it and it's kind of creepy, lol.

Nope, I completely understand.

Middie likes to lick himself. Or just make licking sounds. Nothing else freaks me out like licking, slurping sounds.

He just holds the last swallow of water in his mouth and dribbles a trail of it away from the dish, or better yet gets in your face and slobbers it on you.

I am about to feel like the world's worst dog mom haha. I love my dogs, I really do, but some of the things they do...

Ripley: The most annoying licker. I loathe licking sounds. Like, can't stand them. At. All. It's like the sound wet noodles make when you're stirring them x 1000. He also snores and breathes SUPER loud because his nose is always tucked in against something, practically suffocating himself. He wakes me up in the middle of the night just by breathing lol. Or licking. He's so looud I can't even fall asleep sometimes and I feel bad, but I have to tell him to get up and move.

Keira: Also a licker. But the most annoying thing she does is either squeal when over stimulated/has spent too much time with my mom and trots full speed everywhere... or she does both, combined.

Both of the Dobermans: Will not be quiet for meals. They always whine and carry one. Not as bad as they used to always, but I gave up on waiting for them to be completely quiet, because they just never get there. They'll literally whine for three hours straight knowing food is coming.

They also are incapable of swallowing their last mouthful of water. They get it everywhere. It's gross.

AND, to top of the licking, they feel the need to obsessively lick their paws and chests after every meal. Dance too. I don't know how many times a day I say "enough licking" to the three of them.

Dance: She paces. She can't sit still for prolonged periods unless she's on a couch, and even then, she'll randomly leap off like something bit her and start pacing for no reason. Not stressed. She just likes to wander and look for what kind of trouble she can get into.

She also eats inedible things, like fabric. Huge quantities. It's hard to keep her away from all fabric ever. And she eats poop. Sometimes I wish I could leave her outside fr 10 minutes, but nope, guaranteed she'll find something eventhough we are always cleaning.

And it goes without saying by now, but I wish she was friendlier with people. Even if she just ignored them that would be good. But nope, she has to bark and be a weirdo. She's also super bitchy with other dogs now, which can be annoying.

Journey: Honestly, she doesn't do much that annoys me lol. She is super pushy around the other dogs though and gets super frantically excited really easily with our friends. I really can't stand frantic excitement.

And she could tone down the body slamming of myself and other dogs a little.

She and Dance both pant a lot too, but lately I haven't noticed as much. I don't know if they've been panting less or I'm just so used to it now.

Weird about the panting thing and the Aussies. Cohen rarely pants unless exerting herself.

Mega... is annoyingness embodied. There's not much that she does that doesn't annoy me. I am not a Chihuahua person.

Cohen is so damned loud. She whines before we train. She barks her head off in the yard at squirrels and nothing (sorry neighbours!). She's quick to bark while playing. She sucks at entertaining herself. She'll sit across from me and just STARE until something happens. She'll move my shoes around the house, so I'll go to leave and I need to search for my footwear. Left shoe in the basement, right in the bedroom. I think the shoe thing is pretty funny though.

When he's overstimulated or excited, Watson will screech with the most annoying and ear piercing bark ever. I have to hold myself back from strangling him.

At bedtime, he thinks it's playtime and runs around biting us and stealing things off of the night stands. Usually he settles once we're in bed and reading, but last night he ran around like an idiot and kept jumping on me to bite me or grab at my book.

He knows when he's on a 20ft long line, and he knows where it ends, but he will still throw himself at the end of the line at full strength if he wants something.
