Here's Mollie at 3 months, I had yet to post any pictures! She's going in for her crop on Friday so this is her last photo with floppy ears....its bittersweet actually.

She's so cute! Too bad she's going for a crop though, I think she'd look much better without it.

She is a really cute pup. :) I do like her ears just the way they are she has a nice ear-set, but it's your dog. Hope everything goes well for her.

Ive been on the fence about cropping, I love the way the are set in this picture but im terrified of her ending up with weird ears as an adult. Today she has 'rose' ears, some days only one is to the side and some days her spotted ears will stick up half way. I'd rather not take the chance.

JennSLK;I agree with you, with a good crop she will look great. Im going to the vets tomorrow to check out his portfolio, I have a specific look in mind.

She's a cutie.

I admit I prefer the floppy ear look as well. I'm not trying to change your mind, but if you're on the fence because you're not sure how they'll look when she's grown.. Is it unusual or a bad idea to wait until she's grown to see how they turn out before doing a crop? Or is that one of those things that needs to be done while they are young?

Cropping preferably needs to be done when they are young
(between 8-16 wks. is the proper age.), it's much easier on the dog and and the ears heal better. Vets do crop older dogs, but I wouldn't recommend it as their ears are fully formed and it takes awhile for them to heal and not to mention hard on the dog.

She is adorable and I bet she will look great with a crop. I'm in the minority that pefers dogs with crops.

But no matter what cropped or not cropped she's beautiful. I can't wait for the after pictures :)

Pitties can and are cropped later than some breeds.

You do not want to wait long, esp in dobes because the cartilage starts to harden. That's how they stand. So if you cropped a 1yr old dobe the ears would be cropped but wouldn't stand.

The later you leave cropping the less of a chance there is for them to stand. Each breed has a different window and you need to know this in your own breed.
